  • Publication number: 20220324251
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a pencil sharpener for pencils having a lead surrounded by a lead carrier. The pencil sharpener includes a hollow guide channel for the pencil to be sharpened. An inner surface of the guide channel forms a guide surface for a partial area of a lead carrier of the pencil to be sharpened. To prevent contamination of an outer surface of the lead carrier the inner surface of the guide channel is interrupted by at least one cleaning groove extending in an axial direction of the guide channel.

  • Patent number: 8042278
Abstract: A compass writing implement includes a compass body having two compass legs mutually pivotable between closed and splayed-out states. A writing lead is mounted in one of the compass legs. A protective cap is or can be fitted onto the free end of at least the compass leg holding the writing lead, to shield the free ends of the two compass legs in the closed state from the outside. The protective cap has a passage for the writing lead at a distal end remote from the compass body in the fitted state. The writing lead and the fitted protective cap are mutually displaceable between a release state and a retention state. In the release state, a lead tip of the writing lead protrudes through the passage of the protective cap to the outside and in the retention state, the writing lead is retracted in the interior of the protective cap.

  • Publication number: 20070044327
Abstract: A pencil sharpener is particularly favorable in production terms and advantageous in handling terms. In a first variant, the pencil sharpener has at least two sharpener units, of which each has a sharpener body and a shaving blade fastened thereon, the sharpener bodies of adjacent sharpener units being connected integrally via film strips acting as a predetermined bending point and/or predetermined separating point. • Patent number: 7036231
Abstract: A sharpener includes a sharpener body, a guide collar and a shaving blade. The guide collar has an oval bore defining a pencil-guiding channel and is mounted on the sharpener body such that it can be rotated essentially about the axis of the pencil-guiding channel. The shaving blade is fastened on a blade holder of the sharpener body to be positioned axially offset in relation to the guide collar and obliquely in relation to the axis of the pencil-guiding channel. A concave guide contour, into which the shaving blade projects by way of a cutting edge is formed on an inner surface of the blade holder adjacent to the pencil-guiding channel. When the pencil positioned in the pencil-guiding channel is rotated in relation to the sharpener body, the axis of the pencil-guiding channel is guided on an essentially oval path in relation to the cutting edge.
