  • Patent number: 6397479
Abstract: A sharpener, in particular for soft-core pencils, includes a sharpener housing which carries a sharpener blade positioned tangentially in relation to a sharpener channel. The housing also has a free space that is open on a lower side of the housing. A core shaper can be introduced, preferably pivoted, from the lower side of the housing into the free space through a carrier plate which carries the core shaper and can be secured on the sharpener housing.

  • Patent number: 6334256
Abstract: The sharpener units includes a pencil or core sharpener and a cover housing, which surrounds and secures the sharpener and comprises a floor part and a hood that is detachably secured thereto. A throughgoing opening is also provided for guiding a pencil or core from the outside into the pencil or core sharpener. The floor and hood parts of the cover housing include fixing elements for selectively securing sharpeners having different external dimensions or formats.

  • Publication number: 20010052188
Abstract: The holding device for a pencil sharpener (8) is a molded body (21), which can be fitted so as to be detachable from one pencil end (7, 13) onto a pencil, in the manner of a cap (17) that grips around the pencil shaft (4). It contains or consists of a rubber-elastic material and is furthermore provided with a holding projection (20), which can be inserted frictionally adhering, but detachable, into the pencil guiding channel (9) of the sharpener (8) (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 6301791
Abstract: A sharpener for soft-core pencils includes a core shaper with a shaping edge for shaping the core tip, the edge being positioned in the free space in front of the pencil-guiding channel. This shaping edge is a part of a detachably-secured, separate insert, which limits the free space at the rear housing side, and supports the shaping edge on its side facing the guide channel.

  • Patent number: 6286218
Abstract: A sharpener contains a housing having a receiving channel for a pencil which is to be sharpened. The sharpener is intended to be seated as a protective cap, when the pencil is not in use, with a clamping fit on the pencil circumference. The clamping connection necessary for this purpose is an external clamping-force producer which can be removed manually from acting on the housing, in particular a cleaning stick, with, for the purpose of providing the clamping force, is for example a pressure-exerting lug in the form of a wedge or with an eccentric.

  • Patent number: 6279237
Abstract: A sharpener (1) contains a housing (5) with a blade (13) which is screwed on said housing and forms a tangent to a hollow-conical region (6b) of a guide channel (6) for the pencil (2), said hollow-conical region adjoining a hollow-cylindrical region (6a), a bending edge (19) being formed in the process. In the fixed position, the blade (13) is subjected to bending stressing in that, with the outer end (14) of the blade (13) being guided beneath the housing-side protrusion (16), the inner end (18) of said blade is fixed on the housing (5), the blade (13) being bent about the bending edge (19) in the process. This thus provides particularly secure and space-saving blade fixing (12) at both ends.

  • Patent number: 5894669
Abstract: A pencil sharpener for a soft core pencil includes a sharpener housing defining a guide channel adapted to receive a front region of the pencil therein and conically tapering in an insertion direction of the pencil, and a free space adjoining the guide channel in the insertion direction and being adapted to receive a core tip of the pencil therein. The sharpener further includes a sharpener blade disposed within the housing and positioned tangentially with respect to the guide channel, and a housing projection disposed in the housing and projecting into the free space and being configured for shaping the core tip of the pencil according to an intended shape. The housing projection comprises a shaving rib having an approximately wedge shaped cross section and projecting from the housing projection in an effective direction essentially tangential to a circumference of the core tip and being configured as a generatrix for the intended shape of the core tip.
