  • Patent number: 4898001
Abstract: A gas turbine combustor for reducing a production of NOx. The combustor includes a head combustion chamber and a rear combustion chamber which is larger in diameter than the head combustion chamber. The head combustion chamber is provided with an axially extending hollow frustoconical tubular member to form an annular combustion space therein, air holes for axially jetting air into the annular combustion chamber, air holes formed on a peripheral wall for injecting air and a plurality of fuel nozzles projected into the annular combustion space for injecting fuel into vortex formed by the air jet and the injected air flow whereby the flame is stabilized and lean combustion can be effected. The rear combustion chamber has a fuel and air supply means on the upstream side which includes air inlets formed by whirling vanes and fuel nozzles disposed in the air inlets so that fuel and air are mixed well.

  • Patent number: 4833181
Abstract: A polyolefin composition comprising (a) polyolefin, (b) vegetable fibers mainly composed of cellulose fibers, and (c) a deodorizer selected from the group consisting of a combination of a metallic soap and an amine antioxidant, activated carbon, zeolite and a phosphorus compound. Because of the deodorizer, the polyolefin composition has substantially no odor without sacrificing mechanical properties thereof. Accordingly, it may be used suitably for car parts required to have high mechanical strength with substantially no odor, such as unit cases of air conditioners.

  • Patent number: 4717743
Abstract: A polyolefin-base resin composition comprising a vegetable fibrous material in fiber form containing cellulose as major constituent and a high flow rate polyolefin-base resin having a melt index of 20 to 100. By using this resin it has become possible to improve the poor processability of a conventional polyolefin-base resin composition incorporated with a vegetable fibrous material in fiber form containing cellulose as major constituent. The invention makes it possible to produce an article of large size and small wall thickness by injection molding while desirable mechanical characteristics being retained.

  • Patent number: 4603548
Abstract: A fuel supply method for a gas turbine combustor having first and second stage combustion chambers. The method comprises supplying the fuel from only first stage fuel supply from the start of the gas turbine until its low output range so as to operate only the first stage combustion chamber, supplying the fuel from both first and second stage fuel supply in a high output range of the gas turbine including its maximum output so as to operate both first and second stage combustion chambers. The method makes it possible to reduce NO.sub.x without deteriorating the combustion performance by step-wise supplying a predetermined flow rate of the fuel when the second stage fuel is to be supplied and at the same time, step-wise reducing the same quantity of the fuel that is being supplied from the first stage fuel supply.

  • Patent number: 4297843
Abstract: A combustor of a gas turbine having a plurality of liners defining combustion chambers, and transition pieces adapted to rectify the flow of the combustion gas discharged from the liners before the combustion gas is introduced to the turbine. A guide plate is disposed in the gap between each pair of adjacent transition pieces near the gas outlets of the latter so as to guide the flow of air to the radially outer surfaces of adjacent transition pieces, thereby to improve the cooling of these surfaces and, at the same time, to mechanically connect the adjacent transition pieces to suppress the vibration of the transition pieces.

  • Patent number: 4228359
Abstract: The present stress in the turbine rotor is estimated at each control period, from the steam temperature and pressure at the turbine inlet. In addition, the future turbine inlet steam temperature or pressure is preestimated once every n.sub.T control cycles, for a given speed or load changing rate, making use of data concerning the changing rate of the turbine steam inlet temperature or pressure in relation with the change of the speed or load, which has been obtained by a learning of the past turbine operating condition. This future steam temperature or pressure at the turbine inlet is used as a factor for preestimating the future stress expected to be caused in the turbine rotor. The preestimation of the rotor stress is performed for a plurality of assumed speed or load changing rates. The turbine is controlled at the maximum speed increase-rate or load changing rate which would not cause the future stress preestimated over a given preestimation time to exceed a limit stress.
