  • Patent number: 7508815
Abstract: A computer program product is embodied on a computer readable medium for using voice data traffic to reproduce a user experience for facilitating troubleshooting of at least one of a plurality of VoIP stations. The computer program product includes computer-executable instructions for retrieving packets of the voice data traffic associated with the VoIP station, and identifying time stamps associated with the retrieved packets. An amount of jitter associated with each of the retrieved packets is determined at least partially dependently upon the identified time stamps, and it is determined whether each of the retrieved packets will fit into a jitter buffer at least partially dependently upon the determined amounts of jitter. The instructions include dropping select ones of the retrieved packets dependently upon the determination of whether each of the retrieved packets will fit into the jitter buffer and, filling a buffer with at least select ones of the retrieved data packets not dropped.

  • Publication number: 20080017392
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention includes an apparatus and a method for fire suppression including the utilization of an explosive composition layered between a fire suppressant panel such as, for example, a powder panel and another fixed structure such as, for example, a fuel tank dry bay wall. Upon impact or other means of detonation the explosive composition effects the rupture of a large number of frangible cells in the panel, dispersing the fire suppressant substance, thereby extinguishing or preventing fire.

  • Publication number: 20070219905
Abstract: A remotely programmable system for authorizing customer purchases includes a portable unit having a method for obtaining the customer's information, a method for entering the purchase amount and customer's signature, a mesh-capable wireless transceiver for securely transmitting the customer's information to a mesh-capable host device, where said mesh-capable host device can then securely transmit the customer's information over a wide area network (WAN) to a transaction processor. The transaction processor verifies the customer's information, the amount of the purchase, and other applicable information with a third-party processor or financial institution that then transmits an authorization code back to the transaction processor. The authorization code is transmitted back to the portable unit through the mesh-capable host device. Once the portable unit receives the authorization code, the customer is prompted to provide the customer's final approval by signature on a touch screen, signature pad, or the like.

  • Patent number: 7262602
Abstract: An active system and method for determining the physical characteristics and geological composition of subterranean formations is described. Plane polarized electromagnetic waves at specific frequencies are transmitted by a mobile transmitting antenna held stationary in the far-field about a prospecting point. The plane polarized electromagnetic waves penetrate the Earth and return to the surface to be picked up at a separate mobile receiving antenna held stationary about a prospecting point. The differences in intensity and polarization between transmitted and received waves are measured and carry geological information. Further, a coordinated series of transmissions, receptions, and measurements are made, in which the angle of incidence and the revolution angle about a centerline emanating perpendicularly from the prospecting point are carefully and systematically varied and repeated for a specific set of frequencies.
