  • Patent number: 10893711
Abstract: The cooling and heating neckband is adapted for use with a person. The person is further defined with a head and a neck. The cooling and heating neckband is worn by the person. The cooling and heating neckband transfers heat to and from the person to make the person more comfortable. The cooling and heating neckband comprises a heat transfer structure, a foam layer, and a covering structure. The heat transfer structure is an apparatus that transfers heat to and from the person during physical activity. The foam layer is a cushion that covers the heat transfer structure. The covering structure is a textile-based structure. The heat transfer structure and the foam layer are inserted in the covering structure. The covering structure attaches the cooling and heating neckband to the person.

  • Patent number: 10776244
Abstract: Systems and methods for modeling a prospective systems migration between server systems are provided. Performance data associated with a plurality of applications in a first server system may be collected. A selection of a set of applications in the plurality of applications to migrate to a second server system may be processed. Combined performance data that estimates how the set of applications will perform on the second server system may be computed using at least some of the performance data. Based on the combined performance data, indications as to whether the set of applications should be migrated to the second server system may be provided.

  • Publication number: 20200209036
Abstract: A system monitors gas flow and pressure to a gas appliance in a fluid network comprising an analyzer. The analyzer has a housing defining an inlet, an outlet, and an interior in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. At least one sensor is coupled to the analyzer and configured to generate at least one signal related to gas being supplied to the gas appliance. A smart device communicates with the analyzer, wherein the smart device has a user interface and is configured to monitor, store and display data. The smart device can present any or all of a plurality of parameters such as the flow of gas, a capacity of the flow of gas, a temperature, a pressure of the gas and the like to a user based on signals from sensors.

  • Patent number: 10000142
Abstract: In a method of head and neck restraint the head of a subject is secured to a head and neck restraint assembly that limits movement of the head. In response to sudden force in a first direction, whereupon the head of the subject experiences a force in a second direction, the head and neck restraint assembly controls deceleration of the head in the second direction and avoids rebounding of the head after deceleration.

  • Patent number: 9529155
Abstract: Gradient index (GRIN) lens chips and associated small form factor optical arrays for optical connections, and related fiber optic connectors are disclosed. By aligning GRIN lenses within a GRIN lens chip, a more precise and reliable alignment may be achieved with respect to optical fibers than if a single conventional ferrule is utilized to align and secure both GRIN lenses and optical fibers. The GRIN lens chip may include a GRIN lens received and thereby aligned within a groove disposed between a fiber end and a terminal end of a GRIN lens holder body. The optical fibers may also be received and thereby aligned within a groove of a ferrule body. In this manner, when the GRIN lens chip containing the GRIN lenses is aligned with a ferrule body containing the optical fibers, then the GRIN lenses may be precisely located relative to the optical fibers.

  • Patent number: 9321383
Abstract: A head and neck restraint system includes a vertical support and a head and neck restraint assembly coupled to the vertical support. The head and neck restraint assembly includes a pair of spaced members coupled to the vertical support. The pair of spaced members have a spring memory that permits movement of one of said members toward and away from the other member or movement of both of said members toward and away from each other. One or more spring biased wedges avoid the spring memory from returning one or both of the spaced members to a starting position after movement of one of the members toward the other member or movement of both of the members towards each other.

  • Publication number: 20160034910
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for performing data processing to identify an entity to offset carbon credits. A geolocation of a client device performing a transaction where an item is purchased is determined. At least one entity is identified from a plurality of potential entities from a data store based at least in part on the geolocation of the client device. An amount of carbon credits required to offset an amount of greenhouse gas emissions that has been or will be produced in association with the item is determined. If the transaction is to include a purchase for the amount of carbon credits, information associated with the transaction is communicated to the entity over a network.
