  • Publication number: 20060208846
Abstract: A normally open thermal switch (200) having a bimetallic disk (18) is configured for operational testing in its installed position when exposed to a changing temperature by a test box (400) having a power source (400a). The in-place testing advantageously confirms triggering action of the switch by an event indicator (400c) at the operational temperatures designed into the switch (200). The temperature of the triggering action is presented on a temperature display (400b) and recorded by a data recorder (400d) of the test box (400). The switch (200) incorporates a heating element (24c) to heat changing the bimetallic disk (18) to snap activate at the operative temperatures. The thermal switch (200) is coupled with the test box (400) to confirm its operation without having to remove the switch from its installed location.

  • Publication number: 20060189236
Abstract: The invention relates to an ultra-lightweight heat and flame resistant (or retardant) composite panel having a three-dimensional artistic design on the surface, and a method for making the lightweight heat and flame resistant composite panel. One aspect of the invention is a system and method for creating a composite panel from high performance heat and flame resistant materials, such as aramid polyamide polymers (for example, NOMEX® from DuPont) or any other fire-retardant or fire-retardant treated material, which can be bonded to another layer of fire-retardant material such as paper, fabric, honeycomb or foam. The fire-retardant materials can be bonded by a welding machine such as an ultrasonic machine, or attached by a thermoplastic, thermoset, thermobond or other fire resistant adhesive. The thickness of the finished composite may be around 1/16˜¼ inch.

  • Patent number: 7025238
Abstract: A system for carrying and rapidly accessing implements carried on a belt, especially implements used by law enforcement officers. The system uses a hinged floor carried on a flatplate having a belt loop. The hinged floor is held perpendicular to the flat plate by a strap or cover having a quick-release latch at the top. When the strap or cover is released the floor drops to form an angle with the flat plate, allowing the user to quickly remove the implement using one hand.

  • Publication number: 20050122201
Abstract: An integral resistance element combined with a snap-action thermal switch and coupled to an output thereof, the snap-action thermal switch being structured in a normally-open configuration. The resistance element and the snap-action thermal switch share one or more common terminals. The snap-action thermal switch is structured having a pair of terminals being mutually electrically isolated when the snap-action thermal switch structured in the normally open configuration, and the integral resistance element is electrically coupled to provide an output on the pair of electrically isolated terminals.

  • Publication number: 20030052147
Abstract: Police officers have had many improvements in their equipment in recent years, except in one constant area. They often struggle with the removal of equipment from their utility belts and are unable to put the items into action quickly and easily. This invention relates generally to easy, quick access to the items held on a police officer's belt. This is especially common to non-lethal weapons and ammo clips, but not limited to these in any way. From this point on the term “officer” will refer to a police officer.

  • Patent number: 5272748
Abstract: Enhanced speed calling is provided on a network basis for public access telephone stations such as coin telephones and wireless public Telepoint services stations. The system permits single digit access to voice recorded announcements regarding long distance dialing instruction and service provider identification information. The dialing of a common generic abbreviated code word triggers the delivery of a pre-established interexchange carrier recording identifying the presubscribed carrier to the user at the calling public access telephone station. The information card presently utilized at public access telephone stations, such as coin stations, is replaced with a generic card providing information to lead the caller to use the abbreviated code word to initiate identification of the presubscribed interexchange carrier for that public access telephone station.

  • Patent number: 4506491
Abstract: The disclosure illustrates and describes a sterilization apparatus and method for sterilizing the interiors of paperboard containers, wherein such apparatus and method are effective through the mandrel assembly on which the container bottom closures are formed and sealed. This is accomplished by forming longitudinal channels through each mandrel and connecting same to separate compartments formed within the hub, and providing means for communicating a suitable sterilant fog through respective compartments and channels at the station where each bottom-formed container is stripped from its respective mandrel. The usual fast stripping action tends to create a vacuum within the container which aids the dispersement of the fog onto the entire inside surface of the container, sterilizing it prior to the subsequent filling operation.
