Patent number: 8953928Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes a video recording system including a user interface to enable a user to enter commands. A bookmark manager is to generate bookmarks corresponding to locations in the videos being recorded based on bookmark commands received, to assign end points for the bookmarks, and to generate a program based on selection of one or more of the recorded videos and selection of at least a subset of the bookmarks associated with the one or more recorded videos. A video record/playback manager is to control recording of the videos and the associated bookmarks and to present the program by playing the at least a subset of the associated bookmarks for the one or more of the recorded videos. Patent number: 8881495Abstract: A harvesting header and feederhouse for use with a crop harvesting machine has a feederhouse interface at a distal end of the feederhouse and a header frame. The header frame has a top beam, a bottom beam, and first and second vertical main structures connecting the top and bottom beams. The feederhouse interface and the vertical main structures of the header frame are pivotably connected to enable the header frame to pivot with respect to the feederhouse interface. At least one hydraulic ram connects between the feederhouse interface and the header frame to pivot the harvesting header on the feederhouse to a desired fore/aft pitch angle. A hydraulic supply provides hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic ram. Front and rear ground sensors provide an output that is used to control the fore/aft pitch angle of the harvesting header relative the ground by pivoting the header frame relative the feederhouse interface.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2012Date of Patent: November 11, 2014Assignee: AGCO CorporationInventors: Randy Lohrentz, Gerald R. Patent number: 8320386Abstract: Disclosed is a method for aggregating parallel data links connecting two end-point devices into a logical link. If one of the parallel data links is a multi-point link, then an end-point device can still access that link to route traffic to an end station on the link (that is, to a device other than the other end-point device of the logical data link). In the terminology of this disclosure, the logical aggregated link is accessed through an “aggregated port” on an end-point device, while the constituent multi-point link is accessed directly through a “singleton port.” By assigning a smaller cost to the aggregated port than to the singleton port, embodiments avoid creating routing loops. In some embodiments, the aggregation is performed at Layer 2 of the Open System Interconnection seven-layer protocol model. Then, the methods of the present invention work well with existing IEEE 802.1 bridging architectures and protocols.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2009Date of Patent: November 27, 2012Assignee: Motorola Mobility LLCInventors: Qi Bao, George A. Harvey, Gerald R. Johnson, Whay C. Lee, Ted R. Michaud

Patent number: 8290156Abstract: In a method for communicating media content stored on a digital video recorder (DVR) protected by a first DRM system to a portable multimedia device (PMD) using a second DRM system, in which the first DRM system differs from the second DRM system, a request for communication of a media content item stored on the DVR to the PMD is received. In addition, a portable content key is employed to encrypt the media content item to a PMD format suitable content version and the encrypted PMD format suitable content version is communicated to the PMD along with a portable content identifier (ID).Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2009Date of Patent: October 16, 2012Assignee: General Instrument CorporationInventors: Gerald R. Publication number: 20120256763Abstract: Systems and methods for remote query and control of an agricultural machine use an onboard telemetry unit as a gateway for communication with the machine. The telemetry unit can be coupled to both the machine's electrical system at the machine, and a machine's controller area network (CAN). A user can call up the machine's telemetry unit using a cell phone, personal computer, or other remote communication device. In response, output from the telemetry unit can be used to energize the CAN through the vehicle's electrical system. Once energized, the CAN is able to receive commands from a user through the telemetry unit and provide them to control nodes of various machine apparatus and devices via the CAN communications bus.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2012Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: AGCO CORPORATIONInventors: Gerald R. Johnson, Timothy Dan Buhler, Grant L. Good

Publication number: 20120256760Abstract: Systems and methods for remote query of weather conditions at an agricultural machine use an onboard telemetry unit as a gateway for communication with the machine. The telemetry unit can be coupled to both the machine's electrical system at the machine, and a machine's controller area network (CAN). A user can call up the machine's telemetry unit using a cell phone or personal computer to retrieve weather data such as temperature, humidity and rainfall from a weather station coupled to the machine. A system can provide an alert when a desired predetermined condition is present at a machine, for example an alert that a harvesting or baling condition is present. The system can also enable an operator or fleet manager to check the state of various devices or apparatus at a machine, enabling remote diagnostics via the onboard telemetry unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2012Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: AGCO CORPORATIONInventors: Gerald R. Johnson, Grant L. Good, Timothy Dan Buhler

Publication number: 20120247728Abstract: A method for controlling a supplemental cooling system for an independent hydraulic system used in combination with a primary cooling system for a work vehicle. Airflow is provided from a first air mover to the primary cooling system and a second airflow is provided to the supplemental cooling system. Multiple conditions are evaluated for reversing the direction of the second airflow to remove debris. In one embodiment, reversing of the airflow from the first and second air movers is synchronized to remove debris from both the primary and supplemental cooling systems and the second airflow from the second air mover is staged.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 2, 2012Publication date: October 4, 2012Applicant: AGCO CORPORATIONInventor: Gerald R. Publication number: 20110235801Abstract: A source device determines content rights for encrypted content in the first encoding standard using a first rights data file. The source device creates a second rights data file for transcoded content in the second encoding standard. The source device performs a key management operation including communicating a decryption key for the encrypted content in the first encoding standard to a transcoder. The source device transfers the encrypted content in the first encoding standard to the transcoder. The transcoder decrypts the encrypted content, transcodes the content from the first encoding standard to the content in the second encoding standard, and re-encrypts the content in the second encoding standard using a second encryption key. The transcoder then transfers the encrypted content in the second encoding standard to an indicated device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2010Publication date: September 29, 2011Applicant: GENERAL INSTRUMENT CORPORATIONInventors: Petr Peterka, Gerald R.
