  • Patent number: 11020552
Abstract: A respiratory treatment apparatus implements pressure delivery control settings by improved set-up procedures. In such an embodiment, a processor may automate setting of parameters for delivering a controlled flow of breathable gas. Data sets of pressure delivery parameter settings may be associated with one or more respiratory pathology indicators. The respiratory pathology indicators may each represent a different respiratory condition diagnosis. The processor may then prompt for an input of at least one of the respiratory pathology indicators. In response to the input, a particular set of pressure delivery parameter settings associated with the input respiratory pathology indicator may then serve as a basis for setting controls for delivering a controlled flow of breathable gas for respiratory treatment.

  • Publication number: 20210138180
Abstract: A device (102) provides respiratory treatment for SDB (including mild OSA) and other respiratory conditions. A flow generator warms and humidifies gas at controlled flow levels. For example, the device (102) delivers breathable gas to the upper airway at flow rates of about 10-35 Liters/minute. Levels of flow rate, temperature and/or humidification of the device any be automatically adjusted in response to the detection of SDB events. The device may aim automatically deliver adjustments of any of the levels in accordance with detected phases of respiratory cycles. In some embodiments, the device automatically delivers distinct levels to either of the nares based on independent control of flow to each nare. A warm-up procedure controls temperature and humidity at a desired target during a ramp-up of flow to the set therapy level. A cool-down procedure controls temperature above the dewpoint to avoid condensation internal to the device and patient interface.

  • Patent number: 10961466
Abstract: A Process for the purification of renewable oils. The process may also be applied to petroleum oils such as used motor oil and the like. The process involves centrifuging the renewable oil in a centrifugal device producing a minimum of 7000 RCF, then contacting the oil with a mixture containing water, a straight chain hydro-treated ester compound, and a phosphate derivative at a minimum temperature of 100° C. for 10 minutes, then raising temperature to approximately between 120° C. and 130° C. to complete reaction. The mixture is then again centrifuged in a centrifugal device producing a minimum of 7000 RCF.

  • Patent number: 10856802
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for assessing the condition of and treating patients for heart failure by the delivery of continuous positive airway pressure are disclosed. Treatment of obstruction due to reflex vocal cord closure often experienced by heart failure patients is distinguished from treatment of upper airway obstruction typically associated with Obstructive Sleep Disorder. Treatment may also be implemented by delivering synchronized cardiac pressure oscillations superimposed on a respiratory pressure level to provide assistance for the heart. Heart treatment pressure dose indicator may be calculated for prescribing and monitoring the delivery of treatment. The apparatus may also generate data to track heart failure condition that may be indicative of the degree of severity of heart failure based upon breathing patterns to assist in the diagnosis and management of heart failure patients.

  • Publication number: 20200046289
Abstract: Devices and systems provide methods for detecting respiratory related effort from movements associated with the head or face. In one embodiment, a strain signal is measured by one or more sensors. A processor may analyze the head strain signal to detect respiratory related effort. Detection of effort may serve as a basis for identifying sleep disordered breathing events. For example, the analysis may serve as part of a detector to identify central or obstructive apneas or central or obstructive hypopneas. Sensors may be integrated with headgear to support them at desired locations of the face or head. Strain from head movement may be detected by measuring, for example, tension of the headgear or force applied against the headgear. The headgear may serve as an independent support for the sensors or as a component of a respiratory treatment apparatus, such as a mask or cannula.

  • Publication number: 20200046921
Abstract: A method for controlling operation of a CPAP apparatus. The apparatus has a blower, a patient interface, an air delivery conduit for delivering air from the blower to the patient interface, a sensor for determining the pressure in the patient interface, and a control mechanism that causes air to be delivered at a desired pressure to the patient interface and that detects transitions between inhalation and exhalation of a respiratory cycle of a patient in order to synchronise the blower output with the patient's efforts. In one form the CPAP apparatus provides pressure in accordance with a bi-level waveform with at least one characterising parameter of the waveform being automatically adjusted in accordance with indications of sleep disordered breathing. The indications of sleep disordered breathing can be one or more of snoring, apnea, hypopnea, and flow limitation.
