  • Patent number: 9101839
Abstract: The game apparatus displays on a television a scene in which a pirate shoots an arrow at a first timing. Next, the game apparatus determines, at a second timing which is a timing after a predetermined time period has elapsed from the first timing, whether the attitude of a terminal device is an attitude in accordance with an instruction issued by the pirate when the pirate shot the arrow at the first timing. When the attitude of the terminal device is the attitude in accordance with the instruction issued by the pirate, the game apparatus displays a scene in which the arrow has reached the screen of the terminal device.

  • Publication number: 20140206422
Abstract: An example of a game device accepts inputs from a plurality of players to allow a game to progress. First, the game device accepts a first rhythm input by a first player. A model rhythm is generated and presented based on the first rhythm input. The game device accepts a second rhythm input by a second player. Then, the game device evaluates the second rhythm input using as a reference the model rhythm. Thus, by generating a model rhythm based on a rhythm which is input by a player, it is possible to provide a game with a high playability having an increased degree of freedom for the model rhythm.

  • Publication number: 20120264512
Abstract: An example game system includes a game apparatus and a terminal device capable of communicating with the game apparatus. The terminal device transmits a pickup image obtained by an image pickup section to the game apparatus. The game apparatus receives the pickup image, and generates a first image by synthesizing the pickup image at least in part with an image of a predetermined virtual space as viewed from a first virtual camera. The first image is outputted and displayed on a predetermined display device. In addition, the game apparatus generates a second image of the virtual space as viewed from a second virtual camera different from the first virtual camera. The second image is outputted and displayed on the terminal device.

  • Patent number: 8068096
Abstract: A game system comprises a pointing device for pointing to an arbitrary point in a game screen displayed on a display device and an acceleration sensor provided in the pointing device. A processor of the game system repeatedly identifies a position of the point pointed to by the pointing device to detect a change in the identified position. Also, the processor determines a movement direction of the pointing device based on an acceleration detected by an acceleration sensor. When detecting a position change, the processor executes game processing based on the position change, and when detecting no position change, the processor executes game processing based on the determined movement direction of the pointing device.
