  • Publication number: 20110183757
Abstract: A player object is caused to perform a motion in a virtual game world in accordance with information corresponding to a biological signal acquired from a player. Biological signal acquisition means acquires the biological signal from the player. Pulse detection means detects pulse or heartbeat of the player in accordance with the biological signal acquired by the biological signal acquisition means. Player object motion control means causes the player object to discharge a discharge object in the virtual game world when the pulse detection means detects the pulse or the heartbeat.

  • Patent number: 7549923
Abstract: A game apparatus includes: a plurality of operation controllers to be operated by separate players; obtained partial area storage locations for storing a partial area obtained by each player as an obtained partial area; a partial area choice mechanism for allowing each player to choose a partial area in turns; a single-player-mode game execution mechanism for, when a partial area is chosen, executing a single-player-mode game for a player who has chosen the partial area; and an obtained partial area adding mechanism for, depending on a result of the single-player-mode game, storing the partial area chosen by the player who has played the single-player-mode game as an obtained partial area of the players in the obtained partial area storage locations.

  • Patent number: 7351152
Abstract: A game apparatus includes a hand-held housing, a display screen, and a gyro sensor for detecting an angular velocity of a rotation around an axis perpendicular to the display screen. When the player rotates the game apparatus around the axis, a rotation angle of the housing is calculated based on the detected angular velocity. The display screen displays a game image including a rotational image rotated according to the rotation angle and an irrotational image controlled independently of the rotation angle. The rotational image is controlled so as to rotate in a direction opposite to the rotation angle and by the same degree of angle as the rotation angle, for example. It thus appears to the player that the rotational image stands still and the irrotational image makes a rotational movement. The progress of the game is changed according to a result of the determination.

  • Publication number: 20070257884
Abstract: A game system comprises a pointing device for pointing to an arbitrary point in a game screen displayed on a display device and an acceleration sensor provided in the pointing device. A processor of the game system repeatedly identifies a position of the point pointed to by the pointing device to detect a change in the identified position. Also, the processor determines a movement direction of the pointing device based on an acceleration detected by an acceleration sensor. When detecting a position change, the processor executes game processing based on the position change, and when detecting no position change, the processor executes game processing based on the determined movement direction of the pointing device.

  • Publication number: 20060046848
Abstract: A game apparatus includes a housing of a size capable of being held by a player, a display screen provided in the housing, and a gyro sensor for detecting an angular velocity of a rotation around an axis perpendicular to the display screen. When the player rotates the game apparatus itself around the axis perpendicular to the display screen, a rotation angle of the housing is calculated on the basis of the detected angular velocity.
