At least one weight shifting element is positioned on the rearward facing surface. A sole extends between the leading edge and the trailing edge and defines a center portion, a first end surface and a second end surface. A static bounce angle is equal to an effective bounce angle when the center portion is square with the ground, and the effective bounce angle is greater than the static bounce angle when the center portion is not square with the ground and the second end surface is positioned away from the ground.

Abstract: A class of crystals comprises an inorganic lattice in which organic molecules are embedded, thereby allowing macroscopic electro-optic responsiveness. The lattice is based on a metal halide perovskite structure. The organic molecules can be with an intrinsic dipole such that when aligned and fixed in place in the inorganic lattice, they induce electro-optic responsiveness in the macroscopic crystal. Alternatively, their mere presence in the structure can induce sufficient polarity in the scaffold itself for a similar responsiveness. The molecules themselves can comprise a carbon backbone that is completely conductive, partially conductive, or non-conductive, as well as zero, one or two functional groups that allow binding to the lattice and increased polarity.

Abstract: Lubricant compositions and methods of applying lubricant compositions are provided that overcome problems associated with over-lubrication and waste of lubricants in a variety of industrial settings. In various aspects, a lubricant composition is provided with one or more carriers, wherein the surface tensions of the lubricant and carrier are selected to provide precise lubrication of a surface with the lubricant effectively wetting the surface. In various aspects, a lubricant composition is provided with one or more carriers, wherein the boiling points of the lubricant and carrier are selected to provide precise lubrication with easy removal of the carrier and wetting of the lubricant on the surface. In various aspects, methods of applying a precise amount of lubricant to a surface are provided to avoid waste of lubricant in various industrial settings.

An embodiment of the plasma reactor includes a housing with an internal reaction chamber, first and second inlet paths to the reaction chamber, and electrodes for producing an electric field. The system may optionally further include a pre-ionization electrode and pre-ionization electric field for pre-ionizing a feed gas prior to entry into a reaction chamber. The reactor uses plasma to ionize gas adjacent with the liquid. The ionized gas reacts with the liquid to form an effluent. Exemplary medical treatments include: immunization (immuno) therapy; wound treatment; cancer treatment; and disinfectant applications.

Abstract: A mobile device management system and method. The mobile device includes a global positioning system (GPS) tracker for locating the mobile device. The method includes establishing a zone boundary defining a first zone and a second zone in a monitoring area using the GPS tracker, wherein the mobile device is maintained in a first operating mode when the mobile device is located in the first zone and a second operating mode when the mobile device is located in the second zone; sending one or more characteristics of the zone boundary to a management system; receiving at least one change to the one or more characteristics of the zone boundary from the management system; and upon the mobile device being located outside the first zone for longer than a predetermined time period, performing alert actions.

Abstract: Curable compositions are provided for forming highly lubricious and long-lasting surfaces with optical clarity useful, for example, in optical applications in harsh environmental conditions. In some aspects, the curable formulations include an end-group modified perfluoropolyether (PFPE), a fluorinated lubricant, and a compatibilizer. The mixtures are curable to form a solid having an exposed surface. In some aspects, the fluorinated lubricant is chemically and physically matched to the resin such that, when cured, at least a portion of the fluorinated lubricant spontaneously forms a lubricious surface on the exposed surface. In some aspects, the compatibilizer is present in an amount sufficient to make the curable mixture miscible and to make the solid optically transparent while still spontaneously forming the lubricious surface.

Abstract: A method for mobile device security of a mobile device. The mobile device includes a global positioning system (GPS) tracker for locating the mobile device. A first zone and a second zone are established in a monitoring area. The mobile device is maintained in a first operating mode when the mobile device is located in the first zone and a second operating mode when the mobile device is located in the second zone. One or more characteristics of the first zone are received from a management system. Upon the mobile device being located outside the first zone for longer than a predetermined time period, one or more first actions are performed. Upon the mobile device returning to the first zone, one or more second actions are performed.

A first beacon includes a first wireless transceiver programmed to receive a first unique identifier and a first signal level; and repeatedly transmit, at the first signal level, a first beacon signal with the first unique identifier. A mobile device includes at least one wireless transceiver; a memory; and a processor. Upon the wireless transceiver receiving the first beacon signal with the first unique identifier, the mobile device performs first zone entry actions based upon the first unique identifier. Upon the wireless transceiver receiving one or more of first beacon signal or the second beacon signal, the mobile device ends the alert action.

Abstract: Various embodiments herein include a pocket to receive tendered notes and to dispense notes from a terminal, such as an automated teller machine. The pocket may include a shutter, a lifter opposite the shutter, a pusher plate between and perpendicular to the shutter and lifter, and a ceiling clamp. The pocket also includes a controller causes the terminal to perform actions when dispensing notes including moving the ceiling clamp to an open position and providing an output triggering dispensing of notes into the pocket. The actions further include moving the ceiling clamp to a closed position, moving the pusher plate to bias notes present within the pocket against the ceiling clamp and raising the lifter from a lower position to an upper position thereby lifting notes present between the pusher plate and the ceiling clamp. The shutter is then opened to expose and dispense the notes.

Abstract: The present teachings relate to compositions and methods for creating a functionalized, roughened surface in a single application, which surface can be uniformly-textured and have strong chemical affmity to a selected lubricant. The compositions can include a solvent, nanoparticles having a narrow particle size distribution, a binder, and an additive. The textured surfaces of the present teachings can have an affinity for a lubricating liquid such that a smooth immobilized, stable liquid overlayer of the lubricating liquid can be present in, on, and over the functionalized, roughened surface thereby creating a robust slippery liquid-infused porous surface that is repellant.
