  • Publication number: 20160265237
Abstract: Panels and panel assemblies include one or more transition surface features that comprise or provide a transition gradient between a first surface feature and a second surface feature. Surface feature types include surface texturing, coloring, decoration, and so forth. Transition gradients progressively change one or more attributes of the surface feature across the panel surface. Transition surface features begin at a first degree of the attribute at an origin, such as a point, line, or area of the panel or panel assembly, and transition to a different degree while moving away from the origin. Panel assemblies include a non-transitioning panel having a first surface feature type, a non-transitioning panel having a second surface feature type, and a transitioning panel disposed between the non-transitioning panels and having a transition surface feature that provides a transition gradient between the first surface feature type and a second surface feature type.

  • Patent number: 9395042
Abstract: In general, implementations of the present invention include devices, systems, and components for mounting and/or displaying panels and panel structures with one or more post modules. The post modules, according to the present invention, can include a post, which can secure one or more panels, and covers that can conceal the post from view. Additionally, the post modules can have hollow channels between the covers and the post, which can house wires, cords, lighting elements, and other components.

  • Patent number: 9261876
Abstract: A machining method for machining a surface of a spectacle lens at a fixed rotation speed, includes a step of determining the rotation speed from geometric characteristics of the surface, characterized in that the step of determining the rotation speed includes the following steps: a value (Maxdiff) representative of the largest difference in geometric value of the mean sphere on the surface is determined; and the rotation speed is deduced from the value (Maxdiff) of the largest difference in geometric values of the mean sphere on the surface and from a geometric value of the cylinder (FV torus) at a predetermined far-vision control point.

  • Publication number: 20150247327
Abstract: Implementations of the present invention include panels and/or sub-component tiles used to create the panels that employ a number of different shapes and designs. In one implementation, panels can be prepared from various full and half-sized tiles that have been cut to create the desired shape or design. A manufacturer can then assemble the tiles together to create a finished pane.

  • Publication number: 20150204715
Abstract: A method estimating weight of a motor vehicle including front and rear wheel assemblies using a smart communication device after loading the vehicle, including: (i) identifying the vehicle in the smart communication device; (ii) using a camera of the smart communication device, capturing and processing a photograph of at least one vehicle wheel after loading to determine displacement of a corresponding wheel assembly; (iii) using at least one accelerometer or inclinometer of the smart communication device, measuring at least one tilt angle of the vehicle after loading to determine displacement of the opposite wheel assembly and the corresponding wheel assembly; (iv) using a calculation unit of the smart communication device, calculating load values on the corresponding and opposite wheel assemblies based on respective displacements of the wheel assemblies, to determine a total load vehicle value; and (v) indicating by the smart communication device a vehicle load state to the user.

  • Patent number: 9045931
Abstract: Implementations of the present invention relate to devices, systems, and methods related to mounting decorative slats. In particular, the present invention facilitates accurate mounting and installation of a decorative multi-slat system, which can provide aesthetic enhancement for a particular space. Furthermore, the method of installing the decorative multi-slat system can allow an installer to reduce likelihood of errors and misalignments of the system, which can occur during the installation.

  • Patent number: 8968854
Abstract: Implementations of the present invention relate to systems, methods, and apparatus for manufacturing aesthetically pleasing architectural resin panels having a thick three-dimensional interlayer. In particular, at least one implementation includes a layup assembly that includes a decorative interlayer, positioned between resin sheets, that decorative interlayer comprising one or more three-dimensional decorative objects and one or more resin blocks. At least one implementation also includes a single-step lamination or pressing process that uses a combination of heat and pressure to melt the resin sheets and the resin blocks together, forming a decorative resin panel which includes the three-dimensional objects.
