  • Patent number: 6163020
Abstract: In the furnace (10) for the high-temperature processing of materials with a relatively low dielectric loss factor (tan .delta.) by heating the material by absorption of microwave energy in a resonant cavity (16), a uniform energy intensity of the microwave field is to be achieved for example by irradiating the microwave energy over a broad band and/or by varying in time the frequency of the irradiated microwave energy. The resonant cavity (16) and the radiation source (13) are tuned to each other such that the relation: (V/.lambda..sup.3). B.gtoreq.20 is satisfied. V stands for the volume of the resonant cavity (16), .lambda. for the wavelength of the microwave radiation and B its band width. V/.lambda..sup.3 equals at least 300 and the clear dimensions 1x, ly and lz of the resonant cavity (16) in the direction of the co-ordinates x, y and z are approximately equal to the cubic root of V. The wall (16.sub.1 to 16.sub.

  • Patent number: 6121708
Abstract: In the case of an electrical machine which has in its laminated stator core (10) slots which comprise winding slots (1) and preliminary slots (2), the winding bars (3, 4) which are embedded in the winding slot (1) are fixed by means of a slot sealing arrangement (8), which slot sealing arrangement (8) also has a double function of sealing the preliminary slot (2) from an air gap (12) of the machine. The slot sealing arrangement (8), which is formed essentially from an upper wedge (5), a lower wedge (6) and a wedge attachment (7), forms, together with the slot walls (13a, 13b) which bound the preliminary slot (2), flow channels (2a) for a gaseous cooling medium for cooling the teeth (15) of the laminated stator core (10).

  • Patent number: 5771563
Abstract: In the method for producing conductor bars for dynamoelectric machines, the conductor bars are inserted, with a main insulation (4), applied when dry, into a pressing device with the interposition of a separating film, are pressed to size in said pressing device and, together with the pressing device, are impregnated with impregnating resin in an impregnating vessel and cured. In order to increase the dimensional accuracy of the conductor bars and to simplify the production method, the dry-insulated conductor bars are inserted (10, 11) individually into a pressing device which is adapted to the bar shape and surrounds the conductor bar over its entire length and circumference and are pressed to the final dimension in said pressing device. Subsequently, a plurality of conductor bars thus prepared are inserted together with the associated pressing device into the impregnating vessel and impregnated there with impregnating resin.
