  • Publication number: 20040215458
Abstract: An apparatus for recognizing a word based on voice information, includes, a keyword model storing device, a non-keyword model storing device, a model updating device and a recognition device. The keyword model storing device stores words to be potentially spoken, as keyword models. The non-keyword model storing device stores words to be potentially spoken, as non-keyword models. The model updating device updates the recognition and non-keyword models, based on a previously recognized word. The recognition device matches the recognition and non-keyword models updated with the voice information. The model updating device updates the non-keyword models utilizing a non-keyword variation vector, which is indicative of variation of the non-keyword models, from the non-updated to the updated, and has been set to be smaller than a non-keyword variation vector applied in the updating of the non-keyword models.

  • Publication number: 20030216918
Abstract: A voice recognition apparatus comprises a voice input device, a recognition processing device, a judging device and a setting device. The voice input device receives a voice input from a user. The recognition processing device performs a recognition processing to determine a plurality of word candidates corresponding to the voice input, through a matching processing with respective standby words in preset standby word groups. The judging device judges as whether or not the word candidates include a correct answer. The setting device determines a combination of most recognizable candidates in the word candidates and convertible word candidates thereof and sets same for the standby word groups to be used in a next recognition processing, in case where the judging device judges that the word candidate does not include the correct answer.

  • Patent number: 6568338
Abstract: A sewing machine capable of preventing formation of no first stitch (skipping stitch), which is readily caused immediately after the sewing machine starts to operate, is obtained. In this sewing machine, a motor is so stopped as to locate a thread engaging part of a balance in the vicinity of a forward movement starting point leftward beyond a thread receiving opening of a thread guide plate. Thus, the thread engaging part of the balance reliably captures and pulls a needle thread immediately after the sewing machine starts to operate. Consequently, formation of no first stitch (skipping stitch), which is readily caused immediately after the sewing machine starts to operate, is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6556535
Abstract: An optical recording/reproducing apparatus includes a monitor sensor for sensing the amount of emission from a laser diode or optical head. The output of the monitor sensor is routed through a non-inverting wide-band amplifier and an inverting amplifier to an envelope detector. The envelope detector detects peak values out of the input signal and delivers them to a current amplifier via an amplifier and a comparator. The current amplifier feeds a current corresponding to the input to the laser diode. This current corresponds to erasing power. The apparatus senses the emission conditions of the laser diode between the start and end of the recording operation so as to cause erasing power to constantly coincide with a reference value.

  • Patent number: 6513448
Abstract: A sewing machine capable of preventing formation of no first stitch (skipping stitch), which is readily caused immediately after the sewing machine starts to operate, is obtained. This sewing machine comprises a first detector detecting that a thread engaging part of a balance is located in the vicinity of a forward movement starting point leftward beyond a thread receiving opening of a thread guide plate and an indicator operating on the basis of a detection signal received from the first detector. Thus, the operator can recognize that the thread engaging part of the balance is located in the vicinity of the forward movement starting point leftward beyond the thread receiving opening of the thread guide plate through the indicator.

  • Publication number: 20020049592
Abstract: A trained vector creating part 15 creates a characteristic of an unvoiced sound in advance as a trained vector V. Meanwhile, a threshold value THD for distinguishing a voice from a background sound is created based on a predictive residual power &egr; of a sound which is created during a non-voice period. As a voice is actually uttered, an inner product computation part 18 calculates an inner product of a feature vector A of an input signal Sa and a trained vector V, and a first threshold value judging part 19 judges that it is a voice section when the inner product has a value which is equal to or larger than a predetermined value &thgr; while a second threshold value judging part 21 judges that it is a voice section when the predictive residual power &egr; of the input signal Sa is larger than a threshold value THD.

  • Patent number: 5646916
Abstract: A photosensor receives laser light reflected from an optical disk with a two-segmented photodetecting surface. A relative speed detecting section binarizes a difference signal of output signals of the photosensor, and detects time points when the laser light is located at the centers of tracks and grooves of the optical disk. When a detected interval is longer than a preset value, the relative speed detecting section outputs a speed detection pulse having a preset pulse width. A track detecting section binarizes a sum signal of the output signals of the photosensor, detects time points when the laser light is located at a track edge, and outputs a track detection pulse having a preset pulse width. A loop switch turns on/off a tracking servo loop in accordance with a tracking start signal that is generated by an AND circuit and a D flip-flop.
