Abstract: Information handling system network traffic is managed by populating a DCBX client framework with application network parameters associated with predetermined applications. Network devices, such as information handling system clients and servers, retrieve a TLV from a switch to obtain application network parameters for an application and apply the parameters so that the application executing on the device tags network communications with the associated parameters, such as bandwidth, loss less behavior, priority, latency, through put and CPU utilization.

Abstract: A method includes configuring a host system to instantiate a virtual machine using server configuration information from a virtual machine monitor (VMM) and configuring a switch network to provide the virtual machine with access to resources on the switch network using network configuration information from the VMM. A VMM includes a workload with a server configuration module that configures a host system to include a virtual machine, and a network configuration module that configures a switch network coupled to the host system, such that the virtual machine obtains access to resources on the switch network.

Abstract: A network switch includes a port coupled to a host, and a profile. The profile includes a key associated with a virtual machine on the host, and information for configuring the port for the virtual machine. The switch receives communication on another port with the key and configures the other port for the virtual machine. A method includes coupling a host with a virtual machine to a port of a network switch, receiving communications from the virtual machine on the port, and creating a profile with a key for identifying data associated with the virtual machine and with information for configuring the switch to route data associated with the virtual machine through the port, receiving communications with the key information at another port, and modifying the information to route data for the virtual machine through the other port.

Abstract: A network teaming system includes one or more subsystems to provide a hardware system integrated teaming assistant (SITA hardware), provide a software system integrated teaming assistant (SITA software) operable with the SITA hardware and provide a feature checking and enablement system (FCE), wherein the FCE determines one or more networking features for members of a team coupled together on a network, and wherein the SITA hardware in combination with the SITA software perform a networking feature for a member of the team who does not have the capability to perform the networking feature.

Abstract: A system and method of enabling a transparent Ethernet switch are disclosed. According to an aspect, a network switch is disclosed. The network switch can include a plurality of physical ports configured to communicate data via a network. The network switch can further include a memory configured to store a first forwarding database, and a plurality of aggregate zone entries within the first forwarding database. The aggregate zone entries can also include a port identifier of first port of the plurality of physical ports to be used as a transparent port within a first aggregate zone.

Abstract: A method of using cable test to modify teaming failover algorithm is disclosed. In accordance with one embodiment, a method of causing team member failover based on channel characteristics of a channel in an information handling system includes testing the channel of at least one of the team members in the information handling system. The method further includes comparing the channel characteristics of the team member to a minimum level of channel characteristics. The method further includes placing the team member into a standby mode such that the team member fails-over regardless of a link status of the channel, based on the comparison.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for accessing management control functions within a teamed network communication environment of an information handling system is disclosed. According to one aspect, an information handling system including an apparatus can include a teamed network interface operable to communicate network traffic local to the apparatus. The network traffic can include management access data packets and non-management access data packets. The apparatus can also include a first onboard local area network controller communicatively coupled to the teamed network interface and operable to receive a first management access data packet from the network traffic. The apparatus can further include a first data packet filter module provided in association with the first onboard local area network controller. The first data packet filter module can be operable to identify the first management access data packet and communicate the management access data packet to a management controller.
