  • Publication number: 20080135741
Abstract: The present invention relates to photometers wherein light signals on different wavelengths are directed to samples and a light scattered from or penetrated through the sample is measured with a photodetector. Method provides a required filtered light signal for a photometer (4). The method comprises providing a source of white light by a pulsed flash light source (7) and filtering the light signal for providing signals on different wavelengths by using multiple filters (6) arranged on a perimeter of a rotary filter disk (5). At least one filtered light signal is led to at least one photometer (4). The filter disk (5) Is rotated continuously for passing successive filters (6) over the path of light from the flash light source (7) to the photometer (4) and the flash light source (7) is triggered when a filter (6) providing the required wavelength of light is on the path of light from the flash light source (7) to the photometer (4).

  • Publication number: 20060292038
Abstract: An automated sample analyzer (10) has a sample store (20) and a sample dispenser (90) which is controlled by a controller (170). Samples of a substance to be analyzed are dispensed into a cuvette (60), along with a reagent from a reagent storage compartment (40), after which incubation occurs in an incubator (70). The incubated analyte is then passed to a sample analysis module (140). This has a photometric analysis arrangement (150) and a twin photon excitation (TPX) analysis arrangement (160). The incubated analyte is analyzed using one or other of the arrangements (150, 160). By parallel processing of samples in the analysers (150), (160), a rapid throughput of samples is possible but with the possibility of both photometric and TPX analysis. The cuvette (60) is of a tapered design which is particularly suitable for samples to be analysed by either arrangement (150, 160).

  • Publication number: 20020163823
Abstract: The present invention provides a content addressable memory (CAM) circuit that includes at least one row of memory cells storing data to be subjected to search data for a compare operation, with the cells in each row being inter-connected by a match line. Each cell can, if the search data does not match the stored data, discharge the match line in an evaluation operation. According to the present invention, a match line is partitioned into a least two segments, each segment having a first unit for precharging and evaluating the match line segment and a second unit for determining the result of the evaluation operation. The compare operation of the second and any subsequent segments is performed and the corresponding matchline segment involved only if the result of the compare operation of the respective preceding segment indicates a data match.

  • Patent number: 6334303
Abstract: The invention refers to a flameholder device for afterburners in gas turbine engines with a cooling air fan of by-pass type, comprising a plurality of radial flameholder means (1) which at their radially outer end are mounted to the afterburner casing (2) and have a longitudinal air channel which ends at the radially inner end of said means (1), at which end is arranged a circumferentially extending arcuate flameholder gutter. In order to provide for a relief of the stresses from said flameholder device on the casing (2) it is suggested according to the invention that the flameholder means (1) at their radially outer ends each are pivotably and releasably mounted to said casing and in that the gutters of the respective flameholder means are formed as a common integral annular supporting and load-carrying body (14).

  • Patent number: 6330177
Abstract: The present invention relates to a CAM/RAM memory device with scalable structure with a CAM (Content Addressable Memory) mode and a RAM (Random Access Memory) mode, where selectable parts of the memory cells can be masked off for the CAM mode and reading and writing may be performed directly through an address decoder in the RAM mode. The memory is divided into blocks (1), each having a number of rows. The address decoder (2) is connected by word lines (3) to the cells in a row of the blocks (1) and a multiplexer (4) is adapted to select which block of memory to read data from. The memory device further includes a blocking means adapted to block the word lines when the memory device is in a CAM match read mode, such that several parallel hits in different blocks may be read without generating an invalid read-out.

  • Patent number: 4588554
Abstract: The invention concerns a procedure for keeping and taking into use an analytic reagent or another substance used in analyses, and a reagent package to be used in the procedure. The package consists of a gas-tight sachet or of a combination consisting of several sachets, where the sachets comprises at least one flexible wall and a blank for forming a discharge aperture. The blank may consist of a hermetically sealed flexible tube extending into the interior of the sachet or a bar-like member with openings defined therein that extend into the sachets. The taking into use of the substance packed in the sachet is then accomplished by opening the flexible tube or the openings in the bar-like member and connecting the tube or the openings to the analyzer with an outward gas-tight connection. The substance is thereafter drawn from the sachet into said apparatus in one or several steps so that the sachet will collapse in connection with the discharge.
