Patent number: 8684656Abstract: A loader mast-to-mounting frame pin arrangement is provided. The pin arrangement has stops added to a shaft that allow the pin to be held in two positions: the locked position and the parked position. In the locked position, a unique slot cut in the mast plate retains the pin by not allowing an eccentric protrusion on the shaft from passing through the slot when the pin is rotated to place the shaft in the top of the slot. When the pin is rotated so the shaft is towards the bottom of the slot, the eccentric protrusion is allowed to pass through the mast plate and the pin can be pulled out until it hits another protrusion on the shaft. At this point, the pin will stay in the mast but the loader can be removed from the tractor. To prevent the pin from rotating by itself, when in the locked position, and the loader coming unlatched, a spring loaded knob engages in the slot which prevents the shaft from being able to rotate to the unlocked position.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2010Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Tyler Eugene Hilsden, Scott Robert Jamieson, Henry Friesen

Publication number: 20140064835Abstract: A tractor-mounted front loader includes a parking stand mounted to each of a pair of downwardly and forwardly inclined arm sections coupled to an implement resting on the ground. Each parking stand includes a support leg and a brace, the latter having a rear end pivotally mounted to a location approximately halfway between opposite ends of the support leg and an forward end pivotally mounted to a lower region of an associated loader arm section. The support leg and brace may be stored on the loader arm section by folding them together with a catch carried by the brace becoming releasably engaged with the support leg. The folded support leg and brace are then pivoted against the loader arm section and secured to it by a releasable latch which secures the top of the support leg to the arm section to establish a stored position.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2013Publication date: March 6, 2014Applicant: DEERE & COMPANYInventors: HENRY A. LANTING, Scott R. Jamieson, Radu T. Guja, Henry Friesen

Patent number: 8651792Abstract: A portable storage silo includes a cylindrical tank of a height of the order of 45 feet and a diameter of the order of 13 feet with a filling opening at a top of the tank. The tank is raised from the ground on legs which extend to a base holding a discharge opening above the ground. The base has a transverse dimension roughly equal to that of the tank so that it is unstable in uneven terrain and four stabilizer arms are connected to the base at spaced positions around the base. Each stabilizer arm is movable from a first retracted position raised from the base to a second extended position extending outwardly to respective side of the base for stabilizing the base against tilting and is movable about an upstanding axis at the base so as to move the arm so that its angle around the base is adjustable.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2011Date of Patent: February 18, 2014Inventor: Henry Friesen

Patent number: 8544885Abstract: A parking stand arrangement for a tractor-mounted front loader includes a parking stand mounted to each of a pair of arm sections which are inclined downwardly and forwardly to a carried implement resting on the ground. Each parking stand includes a support leg and a brace, the latter being about half the length of the former and having a rear end pivotally mounted to a location approximately halfway between opposite ends of the support leg and an forward end pivotally mounted to a lower region of an associated loader arm section. The support leg and brace may be stored on the loader arm section by folding them together with a catch carried by the brace becoming releasably engaged with the support leg. The folded support leg and brace are then pivoted against the loader arm section and secured to it by a releasable latch which secures the top of the support leg to the arm section to establish a stored position.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2009Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Henry Albert Lanting, Radu Traian Guja, Scott Robert Jamieson, Henry Friesen

Patent number: 8479911Abstract: A container for example for a seeder includes a filling conveyor mounted on one with a bottom hopper and an upper filling spout with the conveyor being movable in a direction inwardly and outwardly relative to the side of the container to different positions relative to the container for cooperation with a supply. This is achieved by mounting the conveyor on a swivel coupling at the outer end of an arm which can be raised and lowered by pivotal movement about an inner end at the container. The hopper is supported on two pairs of ground wheels, each pair being arranged on a respective side of the hopper for supporting the respective side and each pair comprising a respective one of a pair of castor wheels mounted at respective ends of a pivotal beam extending along the respective side of the hopper and pivotal about an axis transverse to the hopper.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2011Date of Patent: July 9, 2013Assignee: Convey-AU Industries Inc.Inventor: Henry Friesen

Publication number: 20120298478Abstract: A seed tender is formed by a container with five compartments arranged in a row for mounting on a conventional trailer frame with a conveyor belt underneath discharge openings of the compartments for transporting the material to a rear where there is provided a discharge conveyor for transporting the material to a seeder. The discharge belt conveyor has a rectangular support frame and four sections which retract into the frame to stand upwardly along the rear in the retracted position. A mounting assembly provides a first swivel support for providing pivotal movement side to side of the support frame about a generally upstanding axis and a second swivel support for providing pivotal movement up and down of the support frame about a generally horizontal axis. The belt folds in the retracted position when driven by a chain retraction drive arrangement for driving extension and retraction of the conveyor belt support sections.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2011Publication date: November 29, 2012Inventor: Henry Friesen

Patent number: 8205347Abstract: A tool level indicator is provided. The tool level indicator has a rod sliding in a coiled wire cylinder, with one end having an enlarged helical hook that can be slid onto an actuator barrel when at a substantial right angle to the actuator, then tightens on the actuator barrel as the coil is rotated and attached to the upper actuator pin. The upper coils are spaced such that a particular set of closely wound coils indicates a first tool level at ground and a second particular set of closely wound coils indicates a second tool level at ground when the tip of the rod aligns with the second particular set of closely wound coils.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2010Date of Patent: June 26, 2012Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Henry Friesen, Alison M. Publication number: 20100326798Abstract: A belt conveyor includes a belt which is in a flat configuration for a part of its path and in a transversely curved or semi-circular configuration in a part of its path through a guide tube. The belt has a plurality of paddle members arranged together in longitudinally spaced positions to act as cleats for restricting back flow under gravity of the particulate material in the tube. The paddle members are arranged so that two paddle members of a front row define between them a space which is sufficient to allow the paddle members to lie side by side and to avoid contact when moved into the curved configuration and a third paddle member is positioned behind the space between the two paddle members of the front row to prevent flow or material between the front two paddle members from moving rearwardly beyond the third paddle member.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2010Publication date: December 30, 2010Inventor: Henry Friesen
