  • Publication number: 20050014642
Abstract: This invention provides activated carbon having excellent adsorption and desorption properties and a canister using such activated carbon. An organic substance is adsorbed on a base activated carbon having pores with a wide range of diameter to selectively occlude pores with small diameters. As the pores with small diameters are occluded, the activated carbon has excellent adsorption and desorption properties. A canister using this activated carbon has a decreased leakage of an adsorbate.

  • Patent number: 6746294
Abstract: A method for fabricating a flat, light-emitting display panel includes the steps of applying frit seal to the pin electrodes in a state of pressing the rear panel against the front panel to keep them in contact with one another using a flat plate having an opening formed at a position corresponding to each of the pin electrodes; drying the frit seal to fix provisionally the rear panel to the front panel; detaching the flat plate from the both panels; applying frit seal to an end of the front panel and a side face of the rear panel; and burning the whole of components. The sequence of the application of the frit seal to the pin electrode and the application of the frit seal to the end of the front panel and the side face of the rear panel may be altered. The frit seal having flowability less than the frit seal applied to the pin electrode is applied to the end of the front panel and the side face of the rear panel.

  • Publication number: 20030205612
Abstract: Conventionally, distribution containers, particularly, corrugated cardboard containers and EPS containers, have been used as containers for conveying perishable foods. These containers are disposed as waste after the containers have been used repeatedly by a few times. The amount of these containers disposed as waste is huge, and it has been necessary to reduce the waste, from the viewpoint of resource protection and environmental protection. Particularly, in the EPS containers, bacteria are easily propagated on the inner walls. Further, in the case of the corrugated cardboard containers, they have not been satisfactory from the viewpoint of heat insulation and cooling of the contents. The present invention provides a foldable distribution container for conveying perishable foods of which a foldable container main body and a lid unit covered on the upper opening of the container main body are manufactured as three-wall structures made of a transparent synthetic resin material and having two air layers.

  • Patent number: 6425380
Abstract: In order to make a fuel in a vapor phase from a fuel tank to be easily liquefied in a liquid trap, reduce an amount of a gasoline vapor entering from the liquid trap to a diffusion of a canister and extend a service life of an activated carbon, in accordance with a canister for an evaporated fuel treatment apparatus, a fuel in a vapor phase from a fuel tank (24) enters into a liquid trap (21A) from an evaporated fuel passage (23) via a tank port (13A). Since an inner diameter of a canister communication port (22A) is small, an invasion of a gasoline vapor from the liquid trap (21A) to a first diffusion (12) is restricted, so that a liquefaction in the liquid trap (21A) is promoted. When the fuel tank (24) is cooled and an internal pressure of the tank becomes a negative pressure, a fuel in a liquid phase in the liquid trap (21A) flows backward so as to prevent a lot of fuel in a liquid phase from being collected within the liquid trap (21A).

  • Patent number: 6217999
Abstract: A photochemical reactor element containing microcapsulated TiO2 photocatalyst particles dispersed in a polysiloxane matrix is disclosed. The polysiloxane matrix has an oxygen gas permeability not less than 1×10−14 mol·m·m−2·s−1·Pa−1. The photochemical reactor element is produced by dispersing the microcapsulated or naked TiO2 photocatalyst particles in a hydrolyzate-polycondensate sol of a trialkoxysilane or a mixture thereof with a tetra- and/or dialkoxysilane and then shaping the dispersion into the element. The naked TiO2 photocatalyst particles in the element are microcapsulated within a porous silica shell layer in situ by irradiating the element with UV radiation.

  • Patent number: 6047687
Abstract: A canister for treating fuel vapor generated in a fuel tank and for supplying fuel vapor to an intake system of an engine via a purge passage. First and second adsorbent compartments are defined in a casing by a partition for accommodating adsorbents. First and second dispersion compartments are defined in the casing for dispersing fuel vapor from the fuel tank. The first and the second dispersion compartments are located at one end of the first and second adsorbent compartments, respectively. A valve device is positioned at one side of the second adsorbent compartment for selectively opening and closing in accordance with the difference between internal and external pressures of the casing. A tank valve is connected to one side of the casing corresponding to the first adsorbent compartment for adjusting the pressure in the fuel tank. An external dispersion compartment is connected to a wall of the casing to communicate with the first dispersion compartment.

  • Patent number: 5754101
Abstract: A signal transmitter mounted on a wheel of a vehicle is disclosed. The transmitter includes a stem member and a cap member being arranged to be detachably mounted on the stem member. The stem member serves as a tire valve when the cap member is detached from the stem member. The stem member detects an tire air pressure smaller than a predetermined level when the cap member is attached to the stem member. The cap member transmits a warning wave signal based on the detection of the stem member. The stem member has an air passage extending in the accommodating member from the open end to the closed end. An electrical conductor is disposed in the air passage to be electrically connected to the cap member when the cap member is mounted on the stem member. A pressure chamber is separated by a partition form the air passage. A tire air introducing passage communicates with the air passage and the tire at a point closer to the open end than the pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: RE37367
Abstract: A musical sound generating apparatus creates a waveform to generate a musical sound according to performance information. In the apparatus, a first waveform generator is operable for creating a waveform. A second waveform generator is operable independently from the first waveform generator for creating a waveform. An input device provides performance information. A designating device designates at least one of the first waveform generator and the second waveform generator in correspondence with the provided performance information. A controller selectively operates the designated one of the first waveform generator and the second waveform generator to create the waveform according to the provided performance information. An output device generates the musical sound based on the created waveform.

  • Patent number: RE37422
Abstract: An electronic musical instrument, which is configured to simulate one or more instruments, provides a sound source, a display unit and a control portion. Herein, under control of the control portion, the display unit displays the predetermined graphic pattern corresponding to the tone-generation mechanism, i.e., tone-generation algorithm of an instrument to be simulated. The sound source contains a drive portion, a tone-generation portion and a resonance-radiation portion, each of which further contains a digital signal processor (DSP). All of these portions function to create a digitized musical tone signal corresponding to a simulated sound of the instrument by combining operation data outputted from the DSPs. By controlling the display unit, it is possible to arbitrarily vary the contents of the displayed tone-generation algorithm, so that the performer can easily and freely perform a music on this electronic musical instrument.
