  • Patent number: 4125102
Abstract: A fuel control system for a multicylinder internal combustion engine, wherein the fuel is metered by a fuel metering device having one fuel metering orifice whose degree of opening is variable depending upon the quantity of intake air and a differential pressure regulating valve for maintaining the differential pressure across the fuel metering orifice at a predetermined magnitude, and a distributor has a plurality of distribution valves equal in number to the cylinders of the engine, each distribution valve being hydraulically communicated with the fuel metering device, and a plurality of pressure equalizing valves also equal in number to the cylinders, each pressure equalizing valve being communicated with each distribution valve. The whole quantity of fuel to be supplied to the respective cylinders is precisely metered by the fuel metering device in proportion to the quantity of intake air, and the metered fuel is uniformly distributed among the fuel injection nozzles by the distributor.

  • Patent number: 4100902
Abstract: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engine of the spark ignition type is provided with a fuel metering apparatus including a fuel flow control orifice having an opening area or flow section which is varied in dependence upon a flow rate of intake air inducted into the engine. A fuel metered through the fuel metering apparatus is distributed by a distributing plate driven synchronously with the rate of revolutions of the engine at a predetermined rate and supplied intermittently and sequentially to individual cylinders of the engine through associated fuel injection valves by means of a pressure feeding apparatus such as plungers which are provided in number equal to that of the cylinder and driven synchronously with the revolution of the internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 4096838
Abstract: In a fuel control system for an internal combustion engine comprising a sensing vane swingably disposed in an intake pipe of the engine and adapted to be angularly displaced in proportion to the flow rate of the intake air and a fuel control device in response to the angular displacement of said sensing vane for controlling the rate of fuel to be supplied to the engine in proportion to the flow rate of the intake air, a plurality of pressure-responsive actuators are operatively connected to said sensing vane and adapted to actuate in response to vacuum or air-pressure signals representative of the conditions of the engine such as acceleration and deceleration, the temperature of the engine and the ambient air pressure, respectively, to control the angular displacement of said sensing vane so as to change the ratio of the rate of fuel to be supplied to the engine to the flow rate of the intake air, whereby the air-fuel ratio is optimized according to engine conditions.

  • Patent number: 4085723
Abstract: A fuel control system for an internal combustion engine with an unbalanced sensing vane pivotally disposed in an intake pipe upstream of a throttle valve, an actuating device having a pressure chamber and a movable diaphragm coupled to the sensing vane for actuating the same in response to a pressure applied to the pressure chamber, and a conduit communicating the pressure chamber with the intake pipe between the sensing vane and the throttle valve, a pressure difference responsive valve responsive to a pressure difference across the sensing vane to compensate the pressure applied to the pressure chamber to control the pressure difference across the sensing vane at a constant value irrespective of changes in the amount of intake air, and a fuel metering valve coupled to the sensing vane to meter and distribute fuel in response to the pivotal movement of the sensing vane.

  • Patent number: 4058100
Abstract: A flow rate measuring device for an internal combustion engine with an unbalanced sensing vane pivotably disposed in an intake pipe upstream of a throttle valve, an actuating device having a pressure chamber and a movable diaphragm coupled to the sensing vane for actuating the same in response to a pressure applied to the pressure chamber, and a conduit communicating the pressure chamber with the intake pipe between the sensing vane and the throttle valve. The flow rate measuring device further has a pressure difference responsive valve responsive to a pressure difference across the sensing vane to compensate the pressure applied to the pressure chamber, whereby the pressure difference across the sensing vane can be kept constant irrespective of changes in the amount of intake air.

  • Patent number: 4040405
Abstract: In a fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine, a fuel pressure control device controls the pressure of fuel delivered and branched from a fuel delivery system in response to the flow rate of an intake air flowing through the control device, and the fuel with: the controlled pressure is delivered to a fuel metering device, which is driven in synchronism with the engine, so that the quantity of the fuel to be injected and charged into each of the cylinders of the engine may be varied in linear relation with the quantity of the intake air inducted into the engine.

  • Patent number: 3961009
Abstract: A process is provided for manufacturing heat resistant polymeric film. A concentrated polymer composition containing solvent is provided, which composition is a solid at room temperature. The composition comprises (a) a polymer having in the repeating units thereof a member selected from the group consisting of precursor units which on heat curing form heterocyclic rings, and a mixture of said precursor units and heterocyclic rings formed from said precursor units and (b) 25-130% by weight of an organic solvent for said polymer, the composition being a solid at room temperature.According to the process, the solid composition is heated to a temperature above room temperature and is extruded into film at this high temperature to form film at a temperature above room temperature and below the curing temperature of the polymer.
