    Abstract: In the present invention, a filler element 20 formed of a viscoelastic material with a compressive residual strain of 10% or less and a 25% compressive load of 1 kg/cm2, having a specific shape, is mounted in a drum-shaped electrophotographic photosensitive body (photosensitive drum) 10. The filler element 20 has a sufficient restoring force when deformed, so that it can be fixed to position without an adhesive. Also, the filler element 20 is not moved by vibration or shock during repeated use, and good anti-vibration effect can be maintained.

    Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide an electro-photographic photoreceptor which has high sensitivity to long wavelength light to form a less defective image and exhibits a sufficient electrical charging property at the first rotation of the receptor to rapidly form an image. The electro-photographic photoreceptor is constructed by laminating an intermediate layer, a charge generation layer and a charge transport layer in order on a conductive support. The intermediate layer contains an adhesive resin, a carboxylic acid salt of the following structural formula (I), and titanium oxide. The content of the carboxylic acid salt is in a range of 0.5-5 weight % and that of titanium oxide in 10-50 weight % for the total amount of the intermediate layer.(R(COO).sub.k).sub.m A.sub.n (I)wherein R is a straight, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, and mono- to tetra-valent hydrocarbon group; A is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal; and k, m and n each represent an integer of 1-4.

    Abstract: Provided is an electrophotographic photoconductor comprising an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer including a charge generation layer and a charge transport layer formed on the charge generation layer, the photosensitive layer being formed on the electroconductive support either directly or via an intermediate layer,wherein the charge transport layer contains a polyester resin having a structural unit (1) and a structural unit (2): ##STR1## wherein h:i is from 3:7 to 7:3, (h+i) is an integer from 10 to 1000, and a is an integer from 1 to 10, and the weight of the polyester resin is from 10 to 30 wt % to the total weight of resins contained in said charge transport layer. The residual potential of the photoconductor does not increase even upon repeated use under high temperature and high humidity. When a polycarbonate resin is contained as a binding resin in the charge transport layer, the surface of the photoconductor can be made tough and hardly scratched.

The needle-like titanium oxide particles in the undercoating layer show a volume resistance in the range from 10.sup.5 .OMEGA..multidot.cm to 10.sup.10 .OMEGA..multidot.cm when a loading pressure of 100 Kg/cm.sup.2 is applied and have a short axis S having a length of 0.5 .mu.m or less and a long axis L having a length of 10 .mu.m or less and the aspect ratio of L/S ranging from 2 to 10. Further, the needle-like titanium oxide particles are contained in the undercoating layer in the range from 50 wt % to 95 wt % and the surface thereof remains untreated.

The process for producing a toner of the present invention comprises the steps of dissolving a high-molecular polymer in a vinyl monomer, mixing the resultant solution with another toner material, and then carrying out suspension polymerization. Preferable examples of the high-molecular polymer include a polymer having a structure unit represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or a methyl group, and R.sup.2 is a straight-chain or branched alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms,and a polymer having a structure unit represented by the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sup.3 is hydrogen or a methyl group, and X is hydrogen, a methyl group, a halogen atom or a methoxy group.
