  • Patent number: 6731347
Abstract: A method and apparatus for switching input terminals based on device capability are disclosed. The method supplies a digital signal and an analog signal to a device. The method includes examination of whether or not a device is receiving a digital signal in an eligible format. The method also selects an analog input terminal to receive an analog signal unless the digital signal is being provided in the eligible format. The apparatus includes a digital input terminal to receive a digital signal, an analog input terminal to receive an analog signal, an IEEE1394 interface coupled with the digital input terminal, a HD decoder coupled with the IEEE1394 interface, a memory and a selector which selects the digital input terminal if the digital signal is in an eligible format for the device. The apparatus otherwise selects the analog input terminal.

  • Patent number: 6726134
Abstract: A apparatus for crushing waste metal products includes a rotor having a crushing device on a periphery thereof and a casing enclosing the rotor. The casing has an inlet and an outlet for products to be crushed. An exhaust gas from the casing is partly returned to the inlet of the casing by a circulator. The rest of the exhaust gas is ventilated and processed by an exhaust processor. An oxygen concentration is monitored in a gas pathway of the circulator to control the gas concentration in the casing. If the oxygen concentration is high, a water shower sprays into the casing.

  • Publication number: 20030159284
Abstract: A method of producing a cam lobe piece of an assembled camshaft in a valve operating system for an internal combustion engine. The method comprises (a) forming a profile of the cam lobe piece by upsetting a material under forging to obtain an intermediately formed body; (b) piercing a central portion of the intermediately formed body to form a shaft bore; and (c) ironing an inner peripheral surface of the pierced intermediately formed body to form unevenness at the inner peripheral surface, all accomplished by cold working. The material at the forming the profile of the cam lobe piece has a first section located on a side of a cam nose of the cam lobe piece, and a second section located longitudinally opposite to the first section. The material has a thickness which gradually increases in a direction from the second section to the first section.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for switching input terminals based on a transmitted signal format are disclosed. The method includes issuing a command to a receiver (12) when a format of the signal has changed from digital to analog. The receiver (12) switches to an analog input terminal (122) according to the command. The apparatus includes a transmitter (10) and a receiver (12) connected with each other with a digital interface (14) and an analog interface (16). The transmitter (10) has a command generator (106) that issues the command. The receiver (12) includes a switch (128) to select an input terminal, and a selector to control the switch according to the command provided from the transmitter. The receiver also includes a digital signal processor (124) coupled to the digital interface to decode digital signals.

  • Patent number: 6590953
Abstract: The rotary member carrying the X-ray radiation unfit and the X-ray detection unit and rotated around a subject is used as the rotor. The rotor is provided with a rotor core and a plurality of conductors connected to the core. The stator has at least one set of stator core and stator winding, the at least one set of stator core and stator winding being adapted to clamp the rotor and arranged at opposing positions. A three-phase AC current is supplied to the stator winding to generate a rotating magnetic field to rotate the rotor and thereby rotate the rotary member at high speed. Because the scan time can be reduced, the X-ray CT scanner can scan such moving organs as heart.

  • Publication number: 20030071918
Abstract: An entertainment system includes a digital television connected to a number of audio/video input devices. The television and at least two of the input devices support analog legacy communication schemes. The television is adapted to uniquely identify the analog output channels from each of the input devices. Uniquely identifying the analog output channels from each input device enables the television to automatically select the correct device output from among the numerous possibilities. This automation relieves the user of having to manually select the correct analog channel.
