  • Patent number: 5027221
Abstract: A digital image recording system having an image read section for reading an image on an original, data storage means for storing image data as read by the image read section, and an image output section for outputting the image data read out of the storage means in the form of a hard copy of the document. The digital image recording system comprises transmission data amount select means for switching, for every page, the color and density of each pixel of the image data as read by the image read means and transferred to the storage means. Format select means switch the output format of the data image output section with every page according to the switched transmission data amount. Job entering sets a copy job, such as the type of documents, page order and the number of copies. Control means control the preset processing unit, the amount of transmission data in the data amount select means, and the output format in the output format select means according to input data in the job entering means.

  • Patent number: 4923951
Abstract: An aromatic polyamide is produced by subjecting an aromatic diisocyanate and an aromatic dicarboxylic acid to polycondensation in the presence of an alkali metal compound and/or an alkaline earth metal compound as a catalyst in an aprotonic polar solvent. The aromatic polyamide can be rendered suitable for use in the production of high-tenacity fibers by charging in advance the solvent, aromatic dicarboxylic acid and catalyst in a mixing system, reducing the water content in the mixing system to at least 50 ppm and then introducing the aromatic diisocyanate to conduct the polycondensation.

  • Patent number: 4859763
Abstract: A process for copolymerizing lactide and glycolide by using a specific amount of stannous octoate as a catalyst in the presence of a polymerization regulator at temperature of 200.degree.-230.degree. C. to prepare dl-lactic acid-glycolic acid-copolymers which contain 50-60 mol % of a dl-lactic acid unit and 40-50 mol % of a glycolic acid unit and have inherent viscosity of 0.4-0.6 in chloroform.

  • Patent number: 4750910
Abstract: Blue-colored bioabsorbable surgical fibers are obtained by adding and dispersing a bioabsorbable polymer, which is selected from polyglycolic acid, poly(l-lactic acid) and glycolic acid-l-lactic acid copolymers all of which are useful as surgical fibers, and indigo in a non-aqueous organic solvent having low solubility for the polymer and indigo, heating the resultant dispersion at a temperature below 120.degree. C. to distill off the solvent, thereby to obtain a master batch with the indigo incorporated therein at a high concentration, mixing and kneading the master batch with a fresh supply of the polymer, and then spinning the resultant polymer mixture.

  • Patent number: 4484812
Abstract: An electrostatic charging system for an electrophotographic copying machine comprises a photoreceptor, electrostatic charger, an a.c. high voltage transformer for driving the electrostatic charger and a photoreceptor current detector. The transformer is enclosed with a conductive casing insulated from ground and one output of the secondary winding of the transformer is connected to the casing so that leakage current generated in the transformer is subjected to be fed back to the transformer itself through the conductive casing, avoiding the leakage current to flow into the photoreceptor current detector, whereby photoreceptor current can be detected with accuracy.

  • Patent number: 4466793
Abstract: The present invention is a heat treatment jig for use in the baking process, the frit seal process, and the evacuation process during the manufacture of cathode-ray tubes. It comprises a base and one or more support members formed from a novel material comprising mica, talc, orthoboric acid, boric acid anhydride, and zinc oxide molded under heat and pressure. This novel molded material is superior in its mechanical properties to the substances (asbestos tape, asbestos cement, or boron nitride) used for the support members of conventional heat treatment jigs. In addition, it does not pose a danger to health like asbestos products and it is far lower in cost than boron nitride.
