  • Patent number: 7288242
Abstract: A lithium-containing complex oxide exhibits a high performance as a cathode active material of a lithium secondary cell or the like and having a high tap density. A granular lithium-containing complex oxide, such as lithium manganese complex oxide, is made up of “complex oxide grains produced by integrating lithium-rich material grains abnormally grown during a firing reaction with the surfaces of the base grains by sintering.” The number of complex oxide grains is not more than 50 per gram of the complex grains. A metal oxide such as manganese oxide and lithium carbonate not more than 5 ?m in average grain size are mixed by means of a mixer which grinds and mixes particles by using a shearing force and heated and fired at a warming rate of not more than 50° C./h., thus producing the lithium-containing complex oxide.

  • Publication number: 20060210141
Abstract: An inspection method and an inspection apparatus are disclosed, wherein the appropriate inspection can be conducted in accordance with the situation change of a nonconforming product from an initial stage, an adjust stage and a stable stage. The conformity/nonconformity is discriminated according to a MTS model and a one class SVM model based on the normal data obtained from a conforming product. The conformity/nonconformity is discriminated by both the MTS and the one class SVM in an adjust stage where a sufficient amount of sample data cannot be acquired or the shape of the conforming product distribution in the feature space and the shape of the normal area are unstable, and only by the MTS in a stable stage where a sufficient amount of sample data can be acquired and the shape of the conforming product distribution and the shape of the normal area are stable.

  • Patent number: 5401198
Abstract: A jet pump system for a water jet propelled boat is disclosed that provides for the adjustment of the area of the water intake opening or the water entry angle as a function of the speed of the boat. During low speed operation, the water inlet opening is adjusted to a maximum area, or the water entry angle is adjusted to a maximum angle to enable sufficient water to enter the water duct and permit efficient impeller operation. As the boat speed increases beyond a predetermined speed, the water inlet area is reduced, or the water inlet angle is reduced to prevent excess water from entering the water duct, thereby reducing the drag on the boat.

  • Patent number: 5282444
Abstract: The invention provides a power transmitting system for a small boat, such as a water jet propulsion craft, and more particularly, an improved arrangement for connecting an engine output shaft to a propulsion unit input shaft. Also provided is an arrangement for balancing an engine within the craft against undesirable operational forces tending to render the craft unstable. The connecting assembly includes a coupling arrangement utilizing elastomeric vibration dampening members. One of the dampening members possesses a high degree of elasticity, while another of the dampening members possesses a low degree of elasticity. A durable, yet efficient vibration dampening coupling arrangement, which is additionally able to act as a universal joint, is thereby achieved. The engine balancing arrangement includes a flywheel which rotates in response to the crankshaft assembly of the engine.

  • Patent number: 5266009
Abstract: A water jet propelled boat is equipped with a water intake opening, a water jet outlet, and with a mixed flow type impeller, where the above mentioned water intake opening and the above mentioned water jet outlet are connected by a water passage with the impeller in the middle of the water passage, and where the operation of the impeller causes water to be drawn into the water intake opening and expelled through the above mentioned water outlet to propel the boat. The impeller structure is such that a boss section of the impeller has a plurality fins affixed to it, the outside edges of the above mentioned spiral fins are roughly parallel to the axial center of the above mentioned boss, and, the leading and the trailing edges of the fins, with respect to the axial center of the above described boss, slant down toward the above mentioned water outlet opening. At the same time relative speeds, the invention allows a smaller diameter fin unit and, at speeds of 4,000 rpm and over, it offers improved efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5199913
Abstract: A jet-propelled craft includes a hull, an engine installed within the hull, a duct positioned in the stern area of said hull, and an impeller which is turned by the rotational force of the engine to create a jet stream within the duct. The craft also includes left and right secondary water-intake openings on the bottom of the hull which are positioned a specific distance apart on the left and right in the hull, the duct including branches connected to the left and right secondary water-intake openings. By equipping the secondary water-intake openings with a valve which closes when a sharp turn is made in the above mentioned boat and the valve is on the outside with respect to the direction of the turn, air is prevented from entering the outside secondary duct and a loss of propulsive force is prevented.
