Publication number: 20220397501Abstract: A fracture toughness testing machine of the invention makes it possible to evaluate fracture toughness of a specimen in pure mode such that the effect of thermal residual stresses is removed, when the stresses are present in the specimen obtained by bonding dissimilar materials. The testing machine includes: testing-load applying means for applying a predetermined testing load to the specimen, in which the stresses are present; and cancelling-load applying means for applying a cancelling load to the specimen to cancel the stresses therein. The cancelling-load applying means includes: a pressing-force applying portion that applies a pressing force to the specimen as the canceling load; and a pressing-force determining portion that determines magnitude of the force. The pressing-force determining portion calculates the magnitude of the force using pre-stored equations so that an energy release rate related to in-plane shear mode crack deformation becomes zero.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2020Publication date: December 15, 2022Applicants: WASEDA UNIVERSITY, KANAGAWA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTIAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, JP STEEL PLANTECH CO.Inventors: Atsushi Hosoi, Hiroyuki Kawada, Kazuki Harada, Kristine Munk Jespersen

Patent number: 10250408Abstract: A communication device includes a plurality of controllers, a plurality of buses that transmit transmission information, and a gateway to which the plurality of buses are collectively connected. Each of the plurality of controllers has a pattern table that defines, for each piece of the transmission information, a transmission bus pattern, and controls the input and output of the transmission information according to the pattern table. Each of the plurality of controllers is connected to at least two buses, and outputs, to the gateway via all of the connected buses, check information for a confirmation of connections to the connected buses. The gateway determines an interrupted bus from which no check information is input, and outputs, to each of the plurality of controllers, a route switch instruction instructing use of a pattern table that does not include the interrupted bus(es).Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2017Date of Patent: April 2, 2019Assignee: DENSO CORPORATIONInventor: Hiroyuki Kawada

Patent number: 6959561Abstract: An automotive air conditioner comprises a housing having an air flow passage defined therein. The housing includes mutually opposed side walls between which a part of the air flow passage is defined. A fan is installed in an upstream part of the air flow passage to introduce air into the air flow passage. An evaporator is installed in the air flow passage at a position downstream of the fan. The evaporator is of a stack type including a plurality of flat tube elements which are stacked on one another. Every adjacent two of the flat tube elements leave therebetween a clearance which has inlet and outlet sides. The evaporator is postured in such a manner that the flat tube elements extend between the mutually opposed side walls of the housing having the inlet sides of the clearances of the flat tube elements directed upstream toward the fan.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2002Date of Patent: November 1, 2005Assignee: Calsonic Kansei CorporationInventors: Hiroyuki Kawada, Toshio Nashiro

Patent number: 5845725Abstract: A transportation system has several guide strips for unmanned vehicles. The guide strips define an intersection, and a mark warning of the intersection is disposed adjacent each guide strip before the intersection. Each of the vehicles has a detector for the respective mark, a signal transmitter, a receiver for signals coming from the other vehicles, and a timer for measuring a timed interval shorter than the time required to travel from the respective mark to the intersection. The transmitters and timers begin to operate in response to detection of the respective marks. After a selected vehicle passes the respective mark, its receiver attempts to pick up signals from the other vehicles. If no other vehicles are detected before the selected vehicle reaches the intersection, the selected vehicle passes through the intersection without stopping.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1995Date of Patent: December 8, 1998Assignee: Bishamon Industries CorporationInventor: Hiroyuki Kawada
