  • Patent number: 6260460
Abstract: A machining tool includes a table, an adjustable fence disposed on the table, a fixing device coupled to the fence and a lever operable by an operator. The fixing device can be operated to fix the fence in position or to permit the movement of the fence relative to the table by the operation of the lever. As a result, a tool is not needed to change the position of the fence relative to the table.

  • Patent number: 6073529
Abstract: A miter circular saw includes a base on which a workpiece is placed, a tiltable saw blade assembly mounted on the base, and a work support fence that includes a fixed element with a first support surface and a movable element with a second support surface, both of which are mounted on the base for supporting the workpiece during cutting. The movable element is hinged to the top end of the fixed element to allow the movable element to pivot between a raised position, above the fixed element, and a lowered position. In the raised position, the movable element engages the fixed element so as to fix the movable element and prevent it from inadvertently falling rearward into the lowered position. In the raised position, the movable element places the second support surface flush with the first support surface of the fixed element.

  • Patent number: 6075219
Abstract: In order to carry out quick and easy changeover of platens of an electrode unit, a shank holder connects a fixed lower electrode with a platen. Further, a movable upper electrode is connected with another platen by the shank, which is held by the shank holder. The shank holder and the shank are integrally connected with each other, and are positioned in such a manner that the electrodes can perform resistance welding. Merely detaching the shank and shank holder from their respective platens allows the desired electrode units to be mounted on, or removed from, a resistance welder without making any position adjustments of the electrodes. Consequently, adjustment of the positions of the electrodes becomes unnecessary, thereby facilitating quicker and easier changeover of electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5729800
Abstract: An electrophotographic apparatus using an a-Si photosensitive drum. The a-Si photosensitive drum has a thickness between 2 and 25 .mu.m. The initial charging potential on the photosensitive drum is set to 450V or below. The center exposure wavelength of an exposure means is set to 700 nm or above. The photosensitive drum includes a photoconductive layer formed as a thin film a-Si layer having a temperature characteristic of 1.0 V/.degree.C. or below. For realizing low charging potential and low electric field development, the thickness d of the photoconductive layer in the photosensitive drum is set to 2 to 24 .mu.m, the relative dielectric constant .epsilon.r is set to 2 or above, and the ratio d/.epsilon.r is set to 9 or below.

  • Patent number: 5262263
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improvement of an electrophotographic sensitive member comprising an amorphous silicon photoconductive layer and an amorphous silicon carbide surface layer formed on said amorphous silicon photoconductive layer. An electrophotographic sensitive member with amorphous silicon as a photoconductive layer has been already practically used and a quantity thereof produced has been on the increase year by year. In this sensitive member, as a rule, in order to increase a surface hardness, a surface layer formed of amorphous silicon carbide has been formed. An electrophotographic sensitive member with such two layers as the fundamental layer structure improved in charge acceptance, residual electric potential, photosensitivy and the like by forming a carrier blocking layer containing boron, oxygen, nitrogen and the like in a quantity within a desired range between a substrate for use in a sensitive member and the amorphous silicon photoconductive layer has been provided.

  • Patent number: 5020406
Abstract: A miter saw has a base on which a workpiece is placed, a miter saw unit substantially vertically pivotally mounted on the base, a drive supported by the miter saw unit for driving a rotary tool, a blade case mounted on the miter saw unit and partly covering the rotary tool so as to provide an exposed operational portion of the rotary tool, a safety cover pivotally mounted on the blade case for covering the exposed operational portion of the rotary tool, and an actuating link having a slot formed substantially the central portion thereof. One end of the actuating link is pivotally connected with the base, while the other end of the actuating link is engaged with the safety cover. A guide member is mounted on the blade case and is engaged with the slot of the actuating link.

  • Patent number: 4689284
Abstract: The present invention relates to improvements in a substrate for producing an electrophotographic sensitive member having a photoconductive layer formed with amorphous silicon. An electrophotographic sensitive member, which is superior in moldability, corrosion resistance, strength, charging electric potential and the like, is formed when an aluminium material, which contains at least one of iron and manganese or a combination of each at 0.30 or less % by weight, is used as a substrate on which a photoconductive layer formed with amorphous silicon is laminated; and/or the surface roughness of said substrate is 0.5 S or less; and/or an aluminium substrate containing magnesium at 0.5 to 10.0% by weight is used.
