  • Patent number: 6227667
Abstract: An apparatus for recording the exterior retina reflex image of the human eye, has a scanning recorder. The beams of the exterior images pass through the spectacle glasses constructed on the inner side as vaulted, imaging, beam splitting mirrors. The scanning recorder for recording and detouring the parallel beam bundles exiting from the eye after backscattering by each spot on the retina, is a biaxial scanner. An opto-electronic detector receives the light bundles from the biaxial scanner for serial recording of the retina reflex image.

  • Patent number: 5686721
Abstract: A method and apparatus for image signal decoupling in position-transmitting high-vacuum electromagnetic radiation quanta or particle detectors. The electromagnetic radiation quanta or particles impinge on a spatially resolving anode structure through a photoelectron converter layer (in the case of electromagnetic radiation) and directly through an electron multiplier as an electron avalanche (in the case of particle radiation). The electron avalanche is first collected for a short time inside the vacuum on the anode side by means of a high-resistance, conducting semiconductor thin film, and is then read out capacitively from the outside through the glass bottom (counter-substrate) of the detector device as an image charge by means of a low-resistance anode layer of suitable structure. The capacitive decoupling permits high spatial resolution when the internal resistances of the charge collecting layer and the readout anode layer are optimally adapted to one another.

  • Patent number: 5314288
Abstract: A simplified wheel-lift mechanism is disclosed. The components of the wheel-lift mechanism are all formed of a plastic material that is corrosion resistant. Further, the wheel-lift mechanism includes a one-piece flexible coupling which reduces the complexity of the system over prior art systems. The one-piece flexible coupling includes a plurality of integrally molded discs connected by a plurality of circumferentially-spaced integrally molded posts. This results in a strong coupling which allows relative angular motion between the ends of the coupling. In a further feature of this invention, a locking key is operable to lock the wheel hub at a particular location. The locking key is selectively released to allow the wheel to be lowered. A unique drive mechanism is also included.

  • Patent number: 5242154
Abstract: A wheel-lift mechanism is disclosed which incorporates a unique torque limiting structure. A drive is transmitted to a first shaft, which is in turn transmitted to a second shaft. The second shaft drives a reel for raising and lowering a flexible lift member and an attached wheel hub from beneath a vehicle. The torque limiting structure consists of an outer drive member which has an inner periphery including a plurality of ears which are received within notches in an inner driven member. The first shaft rotates the outer drive member and the inner driven member in turn rotates the second shaft. Should the relative torque transmitted from the first shaft to the second shaft exceed a predetermined limit, the ears deform the notch radially inwardly and the outer drive member slips relative to the inner driven member. Nodes are positioned radially outwardly of the notches on each circumferential side. A space is formed radially inwardly of the notch in the inner driven member.

  • Patent number: 5022723
Abstract: The panoramic periscope has a panoramic head and a tube. In the panoramic head is mounted a viewing mirror movable in elevation and azimuth, upstream of which is arranged an at least bispectral front window. Various measuring or observation devices, for example a daylight and night vision device and a laser range-finder, are provided in the tube. Panoramic head and tube are connected to one another by an optically transmitting component such as a transparent cylinder or by webs. As a result, the visual beam path can be reflected out laterally by means of a spectrum divider, so that the latter can be arranged in the observation beam path immediately downstream of the viewing mirror in the upper tube portion. In addition to a compact design, this also makes possible a separate, better optimization of the optical systems for the daylight and night vision range.

  • Patent number: 4975565
Abstract: The automatic adjusting device for a sighting system of a device which can be directed to a target, the automatic adjusting device having an autocollimator, comprising a light source, a splitter cube and an objective. The autocollimator generates an illuminated spot on a detector associated with the splitter cube. A tilting of a mirror secured to the device which can be directed to a target leads to a displacement of the illuminated spot, which displacement is convertible into electrical signals for the automatic adjustment of the sighting system. A prism which is invariant with respect to tiltings is disposed in the beam path of the autocollimator. This prism deflects the autocollimation beam path into a sighting system objective in such a manner that a virtual is generated in an intermediate image= illuminated area image plane of the sighting system objective outside its beam path.
