Patent number: 9058262Abstract: Error information is sent from a terminal adaptor that accesses a wireless network to terminal equipment coupled to access the wireless network through the terminal adaptor. The error information is sent in response to existence of any one of a plurality of errors conditions with respect to access to the wireless network. The error information includes an error type identifying a domain associated with a source of the error condition being reported and an error code providing a reject error cause for the error condition. One of the error conditions may include an unsolicited error received by the terminal adaptor from the wireless network or when a request by the TA is ignored by the wireless network.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2014Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: AT&T MOBILITY II LLCInventors: Yunpeng Li, Inderpreet Singh Ahluwalia

Publication number: 20150071249Abstract: An architecture is described that can provide enhancement with respect to circuit switched fall back. In particular, the architecture can reduce the signaling and delay of conventional systems that are necessitated by establishing a radio resource control connection prior to establishing the circuit switched fall back connection. For example, when user equipment is not in a radio resource control connected state at the time of a circuit switched fall back call, the radio resource control connection can be at least partially avoided by responding to a radio resource control connection request message with a radio resource control connection reject message that includes target cell reselection information.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2014Publication date: March 12, 2015Inventors: Weidong Hu, Inderpreet Singh Ahluwalia, Yung Shirley Choi-Grogan

Patent number: 8639290Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed by which a smart card or UICC that is removably insertable into a wireless terminal will only allow operation in either a specific terminal or a specific set of terminals. A mechanism to restrict the set of terminals that a UICC will operate with based upon logic embedded in a memory within the UICC. The UICC receives specific information from the wireless terminal when the terminal is turned on. If the information received satisfies a plurality of rules or conditions stored within the UICC, the UICC functions normally and the terminal may be registered with the network. If the UICC is inserted in an unsupported terminal, the UICC will refuse to function normally. This provides a deterrent against UICC theft.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2009Date of Patent: January 28, 2014Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Jason Brown, Inderpreet Singh Ahluwalia

Patent number: 8436840Abstract: Disclosed are devices and methods that relate to an LCD device responding to an AT command that solely activates the backlight of the LCD device. An LCD device is programmed to respond to two distinct backlight AT commands. One AT command turns the backlight on, and another AT command turns the backlight off. These backlight AT commands are programmed into LCD device testing equipment so that accurate photographs are taken of the LCD device, and results are improved. The backlight AT commands are also used as part of the programming for user-end applications.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2008Date of Patent: May 7, 2013Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventor: Inderpreet Singh Ahluwalia
