The disease is other than insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) or rheumatoid arthritis. The administering of the immunogenic composition results in a shift of the immune response to a Th2 response, thereby treating the disease.

The compositions and methods include immunogenic conjugates containing peptide carriers derived from heat shock protein 60 (HSP60).
