    Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is described which comprises a support having thereon a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the photographic light-sensitive material therein contains a blocked photographic agent capable of releasing a photographically useful agent and the blocked photographic agent has a carbonyl group or thiocarbonyl group to which a hydrogen atom or a carbon atom is directly bonded and is substituted with a photographically useful group which is capable of being released upon an intramolecular nucleophilic attack by the oxygen atom in the carbonyl group or the sulfur atom in the thiocarbonyl group.The precursor of photographic agent is completely stable during storage prior to use of the photographic light-sensitive material, and releases a photographic agent at a desired time upon the processing of the photographic light-sensitive material. The precursor also exhibits its function to a substantial degree in a relatively low pH range.

The color photosensitive material used in the present invention contains at least one of the compounds represented by the formula I, salts thereof and precursors thereof: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, or an aliphatic residue and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may form a ring together with the N atom; R.sup.3 represents --R.sup.4 -- or --R.sup.4 --S, said --R.sup.4 -- being a divalent aliphatic residue; and X represents a divalent heterocyclic ring residue containing at least one atom selected from the group consisting of a nitrogen atom, an oxygen atom, and a sulfur atom.

    Abstract: A process for stabilizing a silver image is disclosed. The process is utilized in connection with a photographic material which is comprised of a water impermeable support having one or more light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers thereon. After the photographic material is exposed and developed it is subjected to further processing by conventional means. However, within the further processing an aqueous solution is utilized which includes any compounds represented by the general formula (I), (II) or (III) as defined within the specification. The compound(s) represented by the general formula is/are generally present within the processing solution in a total amount of about 0.1 to 10 g/l of processing solution. By utilizing the aqueous solution containing the compound represented by the general formula within the processing, it is possible to greatly increase the stability of the silver image formed.

The antihalation layer contains a photosensitive halogen-containing compound which reduces the pH of the antihalation layer by photolysis and is colored with a dye which causes a change of color when the pH of the antihalation layer is reduced.

This coupler has excellent color forming properties and good dispersibility as well as good color hue and excellent fastness to heat and light. The color photographic material containing the two-equivalent cyan dye forming couplers does not exhibit a decrease in color density of cyan color images even when it is processed with a bleaching solution which has a weak oxidation power or a bleaching solution which is exhausted.
