Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and processor-readable storage media for implementing an intelligent network of distributed compute nodes are provided herein. An example computer-implemented method includes processing information pertaining to multiple compute nodes within a network of distributed compute nodes; mapping available compute nodes, within the network, having compute capabilities and bandwidth capabilities for executing compute tasks onto dedicated portions of the network; processing information pertaining to at least one compute task requested within the network, including determining at least bandwidth requirements for the compute task and latency requirements for the compute task; and performing, based on the mapping and the processed information pertaining to the compute task, at least one automated action pertaining to allocating at least a portion of the compute task to at least one of the available compute nodes within the network.

Abstract: A portable information handling system is assembled and disassembled by a keystone assembly that couples at an upper surface of the portable housing to overlap a keyboard assembly that covers processing components disposed in the portable housing. The keyboard assembly includes a membrane having plural input sensors and a capacitive touch sensor that interface with a communications hub, such as a USB communications hub coupled to the membrane, that communicates both the keyboard inputs and touchpad inputs to a motherboard through first and second contacts that support a differential serial pair.

A processor determines that the information handling system is in a first location, provides a first sampling frequency of the sensor based upon the first location, determines that the information handling system is in a second location, and provides a second sampling frequency of the sensor based upon the second location. The first sampling frequency is different from the second sampling frequency.

Abstract: A keyboard integrates a backlight that illuminates keyboard keys with light passing from an edge of the keyboard and along each of plural rows of keys through plural lightguides, each of the plural lightguides disposed under one row of keys. A light source located at the edge of the keyboard membrane provides illumination to the plural lightguides with individual control per row of keys for improved light transmission efficiency.

Abstract: A portable information handling system integrates an audio speaker having a speaker chamber with an adjustable volume so that audio output from the audio speaker is adapted based upon the selected audio chamber volume. For instance, the audio speaker has two housing portions sealed with a gasket that slide relative to each other change an audio chamber volume within which a transducer generates audible sounds, such as bass. The audio chamber volume may adjust based upon the information handling system housing rotational orientation, the type of audio played at the audible speaker, or other conditions.

Abstract: A method for adjusting illumination of a user operating an information handling system may include capturing an image of the user's face using a camera at the information handling system. The method may further include determining lighting characteristics of the user's face based on the captured image. A border to be displayed surrounding a video image can be generated based on the determined lighting characteristics. The video image and the border can be displayed at a display device.

Abstract: A portable information handling system modular hybrid architecture separates components between rotationally coupled housing portions to minimize cabling, connectors and materials, and to provide improved durability that supports recycling and reuse of the components. A single cable between the housing portions provides power and data communications for the components. A battery in a first housing portion interfaces with a secondary board having a charger and embedded controller that cooperate to provide power at a native battery voltage to a main board of a second housing portion through the cable. A switched-capacitor voltage regulator coupled to the main board reduces the power to a system voltage with a selectable divider ratio that is set based upon the measured battery voltage applied at the main board.
