  • Publication number: 20200056896
Abstract: A method includes receiving information associated with a first haul truck configured to traverse a travel path extending from a paving material plant to a worksite. The method also includes identifying the first haul truck as having a location sensor that is one of missing and faulty, determining whether a second haul truck traversed the travel path ahead of the first haul truck, and determining an arrival time at which the first haul truck is expected to arrive at the worksite. In such a method, the arrival time is determined based at least in part on an estimated travel time associated with the first haul truck traversing the travel path, or a recorded travel time associated with the second haul truck traversing the travel path ahead of the first haul truck.

  • Patent number: 10559208
Abstract: A method includes receiving first location information at a first reporting frequency, the first location information being generated by a location sensor and indicating a first location of a paving system component. The method also includes determining that a distance between a second location of the paving system component and a first geofence is less than or equal to a distance threshold. The method further includes controlling the location sensor to provide second location information at the first reporting frequency, and receiving third location information at the first reporting frequency. In such a method, the third location information indicates a third location of the paving system component. The method also includes determining that the third location is within the first geofence, and controlling the location sensor to provide fourth location information at a second reporting frequency greater than the first reporting frequency.

  • Patent number: 10480131
Abstract: A method includes determining a delivery rate of paving material being delivered from a paving material plant to a worksite, and determining a plurality of paving machine speeds, wherein at least one speed of the plurality of paving machine speeds is determined based on the delivery rate. The method also includes determining a desired paving machine speed based on a lowest speed of the plurality of paving machine speeds, and causing a paving machine to travel at the desired paving machine speed while depositing paving material on a work surface of the worksite.

  • Publication number: 20190188620
Abstract: A method includes receiving, with a controller of a paving plant, a first signal from a location sensor associated with a haul truck, the first signal including information indicating a first location of the haul truck. The method also includes generating a paving material ticket with the controller, the paving material ticket including a first identifier unique to the haul truck. The method further includes determining, with the controller, whether the first location is within a first geofence disposed within a perimeter of the paving plant. The controller is also configured to associate the first identifier with the location sensor in a memory connected to the controller.

  • Publication number: 20190106846
Abstract: A paving method may include acquiring temperature data corresponding to paving material distributed over a work area; developing a compaction boundary map based on the acquired temperature data; and steering a compactor machine based at least in part on the compaction boundary map.
