  • Publication number: 20190226284
Abstract: A downhole tool, for selectively reaming a wellbore or stabilizing drill string components within a wellbore, includes an elongate tool body adapted to receive reamer cartridges or stabilizer cartridges depending on the function desired. The reamer cartridges are radially insertable into corresponding pockets in the tool body, with each reamer cartridge having a reamer insert with an array of cutting elements. The reamer insert is disposed within a bushing and is rotatable relative thereto, about a rotational axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the tool. However, the rotational axis is offset from the tool body axis, resulting in eccentric contact of the cutting elements with the wall of the wellbore, which in turn imparts rotation to the reamer insert when the tool is being moved axially through a wellbore without rotation.

  • Patent number: 10322688
Abstract: A battery management system (BMS) controls lithium battery access on a utility vehicle. The BMS includes a battery interface that couples with a lithium battery, a load interface that couples with a set of loads of the utility vehicle, and control circuitry coupled with the battery interface and the load interface. The control circuitry mechanically disconnects the battery interface from the load interface in response to a sleep event. Additionally, after the battery interface is mechanically disconnected from the load interface, the control circuitry mechanically reconnects the battery interface to the load interface in response to a wakeup event. Furthermore, after the battery interface is mechanically reconnected to the load interface, the control circuitry maintains connection between the battery interface and the load interface to convey power from the lithium battery to the set of loads of the utility vehicle through the battery interface and the load interface.

  • Publication number: 20190064849
Abstract: A charge control system includes a lithium battery configured to provide lithium battery power to a set of electrical loads, a user signaling device, and control circuitry coupled with the lithium battery and the user signaling device. The control circuitry is operative to: (A) detect availability of charge from an external charger, (B) in response to detection of the availability of charge from the external charger and prior to controlling the external charger to adjust the amount of charge stored by the lithium battery, perform a set of pre-charging assessment operations, and (C) based on the set of pre-charging assessment operations, provide a user notification via the user signaling device, the user notification indicating whether the lithium battery is properly setup for charge adjustment. When the user signaling device generates the user notification, the user is informed that the utility vehicle is properly connected to the external charger.

  • Patent number: 10209976
Abstract: An example computer implemented method to automatically download and install a second application can include a first application detecting that a condition has occurred. This first application can be preinstalled by the original equipment manufacturer. The first application can then present an interface for signing in to or signing up for a service. The first application can then download and install the second application. This downloading and installation can occur in the background without requiring user interaction. The second application can be a client application for the service and the first application can pass a token with login credentials to the second application. This can allow the second application to be authenticated with the service without requiring a user to reenter the user's credentials.

  • Patent number: 10195948
Abstract: A technique controls charge on a lithium battery of a utility vehicle. The technique involves operating electronic circuitry of the utility vehicle in a normal operating mode in which the electronic circuitry charges the lithium battery to a normal charge level. The technique further involves, after operating the electronic circuity in the normal operating mode, transitioning the electronic circuitry from the normal operating mode to a storage mode in which the electronic circuitry is configured to set an amount of charge on the lithium battery to within a predefined storage range (or level) which is lower than the normal charge level. The technique further involves, in response to transitioning the electronic circuitry, adjusting the amount of charge on the lithium battery from an initial charge level which is outside the predefined storage range to an adjusted charge level which is within the predefined storage range.

  • Patent number: 10195953
Abstract: A charging system charges a lithium battery of a utility vehicle. The charging system includes a receptacle configured to couple with an external charger, a lithium battery configured to provide lithium battery power to a set of electrical loads of the utility vehicle, and control circuitry coupled with the receptacle and the lithium battery. The control circuitry is configured to detect connection between the external charger and the receptacle and, in response to detecting connection between the external charger and the receptacle, ascertain a charging state of the lithium battery. The control circuitry is further configured to output, based on the charging state, a control signal to the external charger through the receptacle, the control signal being configured to control charging output from the external charger to charge the lithium battery.

  • Patent number: 10107460
Abstract: A lighting fixture can be upgraded from utilizing a fluorescent-based light source to utilizing a light source based on light emitting diode (LED) technology. The upgrade can be completed while the fixture is mounted at an installation, or the fixture can be taken down temporarily during the upgrade. One or more fluorescent tubes in the fixture can be removed and replaced with an LED-based light engine. The light engine can include LEDs, an LED driver, and a lightguide, which may be slab-shaped. The LEDs can couple light into the lightguide, and the lightguide can distribute the coupled light. A bracket system can mount the new light engine to a frame of the lighting fixture. If the lighting fixture has a ballast, the ballast can remain attached to the fixture frame during and after the upgrade or be removed, for example.

  • Patent number: 10025884
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a method for receiving a user selection of a first object of a simulated model and selecting a second object of the simulated model based on the received selection of the first object. The method includes generating an offset object similar to the first object, wherein the position of the offset object is based on the position of the first object and second object. The method includes generating a manipulation tool configured to allow a user to change the position of the offset object relative to the first object and second object. The method further includes generating a manipulation tool. The manipulation tool allows a user to change the position of the offset object relative to the first and second objects. • Patent number: 10017169
Abstract: A motion control system controls movement of a utility vehicle. The motion control system includes an electric brake that (i) provides mechanical resistance which inhibits a motor of the utility vehicle from turning when the electric brake is unpowered and (ii) removes the mechanical resistance to allow the motor of the utility vehicle to turn when power is provided to the electric brake. The motion control system further includes a lithium BMS having a contactor that closes to provide electrical access to a lithium battery and opens to remove electrical access to the lithium battery. The motion control system further includes control circuitry coupled with the electric brake and the lithium BMS. The control circuitry directs the lithium BMS to maintain closure of the contactor to provide power from the lithium battery to the electric brake in response to receipt of a tow signal.
