  • Patent number: 8948643
Abstract: A method for printer stability enhancement in a multiple printer printing system includes determining a first printer stress state of a first printer in a printing system, wherein the first printer is assigned a first printing role. A second printer stress state of a second printer in the printing system is also determined, wherein the second printer is assigned a second printing role that is different from the first printing role. The first printer stress state is compared to the second printer stress state, and the first printing role is reassigned to the second printer and the second printing role is reassigned to the first printer if the first printer stress state is different than the second printer stress state. A printing system implementing the method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8750769
Abstract: A computer implemented method of cleaning electrodes (such as wires) is used in a toner-based electrostatic printing device. The electrodes produce an environment containing charged toner particles to assist in electrostatic printing. The method automatically monitors at least two printing parameters that are unrelated to signals and voltages provided to the electrodes (using a processor of the electrostatic printing device). Further, this method also uses the processor automatically infers a toner contamination of the electrodes from the printing parameters. This allows the processor to automatically adjust the printing the used by the electrostatic printing device during electrostatic printing to maintain the contamination of the electrodes below a threshold.

  • Patent number: 8492064
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for preparing a polyester based magnetic toner composition. The toner composition includes one or more polyester amorphous binder resins, optionally a cystalline polyester resin, and spherical ferromagnetic particles. In embodiments, the toner is prepared from ferromagentic particles that have been previously encapsulated in an amorphous resin, a crystalline resin or a wax. In yet other embodiments, the process may be conducted under an inert gas such as argon to avoid oxidation of the ferromagnetic particles during toner preparation.

  • Publication number: 20130044851
Abstract: A nuclear plant auxiliary backup power system that uses decay heat following a plant shutdown to produce electrical power through a dedicated steam turbine/generator set. The decay heat produces a hot operating gaseous fluid which is used as a backup to run an appropriately sized turbine that powers an electrical generator. The turbine is configured to utilize a portion of the existing nuclear plant secondary system and exhausts the turbine exhaust to the ambient atmosphere. The system functions to both remove reactor decay heat and provide electrical power for plant systems to enable an orderly shutdown in the event traditional sources of electric power are unavailable.

  • Publication number: 20120221511
Abstract: A method and a system for analyzing a data value of interest in a multidimensional database. The data value of interest is first identified in a structured report. The data source for the structured report is retrieved. A context for the data value of interest in the data source is collected, for example, by extracting a slicer from the structured report, by extracting members of master-detail pages, or by extracting a default measure from the structured report. An analysis specification based on the collected context is then built, and the data value of interest is analyzed using the analysis specification. The result from analyzing the data value of interest may be presented in an analysis view.

  • Patent number: 8234298
Abstract: Method and system for determining a driving factor for a data value of interest in a multidimensional database, by collecting a context for the data value of interest in the multidimensional database. The data value of interest has dimensional levels with dimensional members outside the drill path of the data value of interest. The dimensional levels are enumerated in a list. A query using the dimensional members of the dimensional level is executed. A variance is calculated for the set of query results. A driving factor for the data value of interest is determined based on the variance. The driving factor is added to the context of the data value of interest.

  • Patent number: 7904413
Abstract: A segmentation management system manages segmentation of a set of members in a multi-dimensionally modeled data source. The segmentation management system comprises a segment definition manager, a segmentation engine and a segment application manager. The segment definition manager manages definitions of identifiable non-overlapping segments for a given base set of members in a multi-dimensionally modeled data source. The segmentation engine divides the base set of members into the segments based on the definitions of the segments. The segment application manager allows the segments to be used as objects.

  • Publication number: 20100239324
Abstract: A system and method for producing toner associated with a selectable gloss level is provided. The method includes holding a first toner formed of particles, associated with a relatively low gloss level, and having two particle properties, each having a first and second characteristic, respectively, and holding a second toner formed of particles, associated with a relatively high gloss level, and having the two particle properties, each having a third and fourth characteristic, respectively. The first and third and the second and fourth characteristics are substantially the same. The first and second toners are transported and a ratio of their respective volumes is determined so that when blended a third toner is produced which is associated with a selected gloss level that is in-between the low and high gloss levels. The transporting is controlled in accordance with the determined ratio.

  • Patent number: 7786438
Abstract: A sensor assembly that replaces a single focal plane array detector with two focal plane array detectors orientated with respect to each other such that a power splitter divides an incoming light source equally between each detector. The two detectors are selected such that the locations of poorly-operating pixels in each detector do not overlay. The output signals of each detector are then electronically or analytically combined to yield 100 percent operability. Separate switchable wavelength filter wheels having one or more different wavelength filters may be positioned between the power splitter and each of the detectors. The power splitter may be replaced by a polarization splitter. One detector can be translated perpendicular to the incoming light source relative to the second detector to compensate for new poorly-operating pixels and/or to improve the spatial resolution.

  • Publication number: 20100163415
Abstract: A water treatment device having a tank containing an anode and a cathode. A motor is provided to impart rotational motion to the cathode. A scraping means is fixed to the interior of the tank and extend inward toward the tank so as to define a gap between the scraping means and the cathode. As mineral deposits accumulate on the cathode they are removed by the scraping means and the rotational motion of the cathode.

  • Publication number: 20100123287
Abstract: The present device is a board game for playing a variety of pawn advancement games and comprises a playing board having a central game grid with surrounding borders of different colors. Each colored border has five areas: OUT, PLAY, YES, NO, and WINNERS. Each player is assigned to a colored border and is provided a spotted die for rolling, a numbered die for assigning, and at least one pawn. The player's border, dice, and pawns have matching colors. Each player has an objective to move their colored pawns across the game grid from the player's border to the last line of the game grid farthest away. Advancement of each pawn is determined by the rolled values of the spotted dice, the assigned values of the numbered dice, and switching of pawns. The first player moving all their pawns into their WINNERS area is declared the winner.
