  • Publication number: 20190007392
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided that enable single sign-on (SSO) mechanisms on rich clients running hosting applications that include documents with one or more embedded web assets. An embedded web asset may be any resource (e.g., document, image, data, etc.) that is accessed via a browser from within a hosting application. In aspects, authentication of a user identity is required to access an embedded web asset. In particular, an identity management module is provided on a rich client. The identity management module is configured to maintain multiple credentials for multiple user identities that are associated with multiple applications, whether the applications are embedded applications or hosting applications. In this way, a user may access multiple applications, including embedded web assets, associated with each user identity—without signing into each application. • Patent number: 9937548
Abstract: A joint is produced in at least two overlapping workpieces using a joining tool including a punch reciprocally disposed in a cylinder. The workpieces are disposed between the tool and a die. The tool applies a compressive force to deform the workpieces into a joint at a joining area between the tool and die. Continuous ultrasonic energy is applied to at least one of the workpieces in the joining area for at least part of the time during production of the joint to increase the ductility of at least one of the workpieces in the joining area. This induces an acousto-plastic effect in the material being formed which temporarily reduces its strength so as to exhibit increased ductility. The joining method may be used in self-piercing riveting and clinching techniques and enables viable joints to be formed in high strength materials or thick sheets of material.

  • Patent number: 9754886
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed that enable improved shorting margin between unlanded conductive interconnect features and neighboring conductive features. In some embodiments, an etch may be applied to an insulator layer having one or more conductive features therein, such that the insulator layer is recessed below the top of the conductive features and the edges of the conductive features are rounded or otherwise softened. A conformal etchstop layer may then be deposited over the conductive features and the insulator material. A second insulator layer may be deposited above the conformal etchstop layer, and an interconnect feature may pass through the second insulator layer and the conformal etchstop layer to connect with the rounded portion of one of the conductive features. In some embodiments, the interconnect feature is an unlanded via and the unlanded portion of the via may or may not penetrate through the conformal barrier layer.
