  • Publication number: 20180052581
Abstract: Focus indication is implemented for components displayed on a display device. A first signal is accepted from a first user input device to change focus to a first selected component on the display device. A focus indicator is provided in association with the first selected component in response to the first signal. A second signal is accepted from a mouse or touch user input device to change focus to a second selected component. A determination is made that focus has changed in response to an input from the mouse or touch user input device. Display of the focus indicator is suppressed for the second selected component in response to the determining.

  • Patent number: 9778834
Abstract: A data view may be into multiple data panes. Splits between data panes may be horizontal or vertical, allowing data panes to be arranged horizontally and vertically. Scroll boundaries are set for each pair of adjacent data panes, such that each data pane may only scroll through a portion of the data on its side of the scroll boundary. Data panes may be scrolled independently in the direction of a split. Data panes may be scrolled together perpendicular to the direction of a split.

  • Patent number: 9723822
Abstract: A fishing rod with a flotation device including a housing in a handle of a fishing rod body or in a tube attached to the fishing rod body. A flotation mechanism in the housing includes a water dissolvable plug within a front end thereof, a flotation body adjacent the plug, a discharge element, which is a spring or an amount of baking soda, adjacent a rear side of the flotation body, and a nylon cord anchored to the rear end and having a forward end attached to the flotation body rear side. Upon dissolution of the plug, the discharge element transforms from a contracted condition into an expanded condition and releases the flotation body from the housing. As the flotation body rises to and floats upon a surface of a body of water, the housing is elevated to make the fishing rod body accessible for retrieval.

  • Publication number: 20170074060
Abstract: A pipe centering and washing apparatus comprises a body having an axial bore sized to accommodate a drill string, and pipe moving means. The pipe moving means comprises a ram housing having a radial bore, a pipe ram movable along the radial bore, and a ram actuator to move the pipe ram along the radial bore. When the pipe centering and washing apparatus is mounted on the wellhead, the axial bore is in fluid communication and substantially aligned with the wellhead's internal bore. The pipe centering and washing apparatus is operable between a retracted position and a centering position. When a drill string is present in the axial bore, the pipe moving means is operable to position the drill string in the axial bore between an off-centered position and a substantially centered position.

  • Patent number: 9560086
Abstract: In an embodiment, techniques for sustaining session connections are provided. The techniques send heartbeat messages when not sending a message may cause the session connection to close because of a timeout condition. Heartbeat messages are valid transport layer messages that will be ignored by protocols at higher levels of a data communications stack. As an example, the techniques may send a TCP message containing only a carriage return and line feed (“CRLF”) in its payload. Because the TCP layer considers a message containing only a CRLF to be a valid TCP message, intermediary computing devices such as proxy servers may not interpret heartbeat messages as “keep alive” messages, and may sustain session connections.

  • Patent number: 9503426
Abstract: A virtual environment firewall receives a message having a request from a virtual environment entity intended for a virtual environment controller. The virtual environment firewall determines whether the request complies with one or more governance rules of the virtual environment controller. If the request does not comply with the one or more governance rules, the virtual environment firewall processes the message to prevent the request from being processed by the virtual environment controller.

  • Patent number: 9280773
Abstract: A DRM compliance system can include one or more DRM servers, capture devices capable of continuously encrypting content at capture, and one or more rights compliance software applications. Methods of ensuring DRM compliance can include registering and verifying capture devices prior to the presentation of protectable content. Unique IDs associated with the capture devices may be stored as DRM liens in a DRM server along with particular time periods an identified DRM policy is in effect. The rights compliance software application can consult a DRM server to determine if encrypted content captured by a device is subject to a DRM policy. The server can make such a determination based on attempting to match data identifying the capture device and time of capture to one or more DRM liens. When matches are found, applicable DRM policies are applied by decrypting the content and then rendering the content in a DRM-compatible form.

  • Patent number: 9224145
Abstract: A system for tracking copyright compliance comprises a database, the database including unique identifiers for a plurality of content capture devices. The unique identifiers may be obtained from devices prior to the presentation of protectable content, for example, by pre-registration during the process of obtaining a ticket to a performance or at a security checkpoint at an event. The unique identifiers may be associated with a copyright policy pertaining to content at the event. Each device may embed its unique identifier in content captured by the device, such as via a watermark. Software may obtain data embedded in content and access the database to determine the copyright status of the content by sending a request including data identifying the capture device. If content is obtained from an unauthorized source, the content may be traced back to a specific device.
