  • Publication number: 20020162558
Abstract: A gas administering method for administering gas to an airway of a patient having a nasal vestibule and for use with a gas administering apparatus comprises a primary gas source that is operable to provide gas and a nasal vestibular portion arranged so as to receive the gas from the primary gas source. Further, the nasal vestibular portion is capable of releasing the primary gas into the nasal vestibule. The method comprises inserting the nasal vestibular portion into the nasal vestibule, forming a seal between the nasal vestibular portion and an inner surface of the nasal vestibule, administering an amount of a gas from the primary gas source at a constant flow rate into the nasal vestibule via the nasal vestibular portion, and administering an anesthetic to the patient. The anesthetic induces depression of a portion of the nervous system of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20020070972
Abstract: An industrial automation computer display presents cumulative or sequential messages to the user through an unobtrusive and discreet navigator and with audio-visual feedback. The messages related to fault-causing events are stored, and the last message is displayed in a space-saving manner in the navigator. A complete list of messages appears when the user requests it through a user-activated icon, allowing navigation to, and assessment of, the messages. After selection of an entry and initiation of a “jump” to the fault location, the list disappears and the discreet navigator is once again reduced to the original message indicator, which can also be made to disappear altogether until the next significant event occurs. That is, the user sees the complete list in a pop-up window for only as long as she/he needs to, and thus considerably more working area is made available.

  • Patent number: 3974890
Abstract: An improved snowmobile suspension system to facilitate fast cornering is described. The improved suspension system comprises throttle-independent tilt means to remove at least a portion of the forward part of the tread of the snowmobile to support said snowmobile on the front guide skis and the rear of the track propulsion system. A particularly useful device comprises lift means which lifts the forward part of the track. Pneumatic or hydraulic means are preferred lift means and may be actuated from a reservoir of high pressure fluid.
