  • Patent number: 7165134
Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method includes receiving real-time data at a personal computer implementing a general purpose operating system, generating a real-time event at the personal computer and determining whether the real-time event has a higher priority than a first event being processed at the personal computer. If the real-time event has a higher priority than the first event being processed, the real-time event is processed.

  • Patent number: 7114090
Abstract: A method is described that involves operating a computing system within a normal on state and transitioning from the normal on state to a main CPU/OS based state. In the main CPU/OS based state one or more components of the computing system are inactivated so as to cause the computing system to consume less power in the main CPU/OS based state than in the normal on state. The computing system is able to execute software application routines on a main CPU and a main OS of the computing system while in the main CPU/OS based state.

  • Publication number: 20030001020
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for taking an electronic application programs such as, for example, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows, and Word of Microsoft Corporation of Redmond, Wash., and printing them on a piece of paper having a preprinted pattern thereon, thereby creating a hardcopy representation. The hardcopy representation of the application includes identification information (e.g., a unique ID). The identification information associates the application printed on the page with the preprinted pattern on the paper. Using a special pen, edits may be made to the hardcopy representation. The pen records these edits and sends the updates to a computer system automatically. In response to the receiving the edits, the computer system updates the electronic application automatically.
