  • Patent number: 7869811
Abstract: For enhancing the quality of a relative positioning, a filter is adjusted depending on information on a movement of a satellite signal receiver. A position of the satellite signal receiver is determined relative to a reference station using the filter, wherein measurements on satellite signals received by the satellite signal receiver and measurements on satellite signals provided for the reference station are used as input to the filter. The measurements for the reference station may be received in messages which are assembled and provided for transmission and which may include in addition an indication of a current movement of the reference station.

  • Patent number: 7701387
Abstract: For supporting a satellite based positioning of a mobile arrangement (30,40) with assistance data, a communication network converts parameters of a dedicated orbit model describing a movement of a satellite (50,60), which dedicated orbit model is defined for a particular satellite based positioning system, into parameters of a common orbit model describing a movement of a satellite (50,60). Alternatively or in addition, the network replaces a reference value that is based on a satellite based positioning system time in available parameters of an orbit model by a reference value that is based on a communication system time. After the parameter conversion and/or the reference value replacement, the parameters are provided as a part of assistance data for the satellite based positioning. Alternatively or in addition, a set of data is transmitted in one direction between the mobile arrangement and the communication network, which is independent of the employed positioning mode.

  • Publication number: 20100090895
Abstract: For assisting a satellite based positioning, parameters are received for at least one satellite. Redundant information is removed from these parameters at large. Parameters with reduced redundancy are then provided as assistance data for the satellite signal based positioning. Such parameters with reduced redundancy can be received on the other hand as assistance data for a satellite signal based positioning. The original parameters are then reconstructed by adding the removed redundant information to the received parameters. The reconstructed original parameters are used in an assisted satellite signal based positioning.
