Publication number: 20170089374Abstract: An outrigger clamp to couple together two or more nestable tubes. The clamp can include a guide for retaining filament. The guide can rotate about an axis based on the forces applied to the outrigger to better align the filament and guides, and therefore align the forces applied to the outrigger and filament. The retainer can be, for example, one or more rollers that help prevent the filament from becoming creased or kinked during use.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 19, 2016Publication date: March 30, 2017Inventors: Matthew Stewart Onorato, Jason Sarnowski, Erle Matthew Bridgewater

Publication number: 20170071297Abstract: A article of survival equipment for wear by the user comprising a weaved cord portion, a shackle, a tongue and a pin. The shackle is coupled to one end of the cord portion and further includes two apertures disposed at opposing ends of the shackle adapted to receive a pin. The tongue is coupled to the other end of the cord portion and is disposed between the ends of the shackle. The tongue further includes a plurality of apertures for receiving the pin. The pin extends substantially between the shackle apertures when inserted in the shackle and the tongue.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 7, 2014Publication date: March 16, 2017Applicant: Tough Gear, Inc.Inventors: Kurt Walchle, Matthew Bridgewater, Jason Sarnowski, Cole Coker

Publication number: 20170074012Abstract: A latch that is waterproof or water-resistant so as to resist the entry of water through the latch. The latch can be a slam latch having a pawl with a shaft. A sealing element, for example, a collar and/or an O-ring, can be placed around the shaft of the pawl to resist water from entering through the latch. The pawl can also enclose the cavity in which the latch handle is maintained so water cannot enter through the cavity. Other measures, such as a gasket and selective welding, can also be implemented to improve the water-resistance of the latch.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2015Publication date: March 16, 2017Applicant: GEM PRODUCTS, INC.Inventors: Matthew Stewart Onorato, Jason Sarnowski
-
Publication number: 20170074454Abstract: A mount capable of rotating a body in multiple planes with a single handle. The handle can be disposed in a first position, where rotation of the handle causes the body to rotate in a horizontal plane; or a second position, where rotation of the handle causes the body to rotate in a vertical plane. The body can otherwise be locked and not rotatable.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2015Publication date: March 16, 2017Applicant: GEM PRODUCTS, INC.Inventors: Jason Sarnowski, Matthew Stewart Onorato, Erle Matthew Bridgewater, Benjamin Adam Wilder

Patent number: 9371112Abstract: A method of manufacturing a marine thru-hull fitting from a single stock material to fit a variety of different sized boat hulls is disclosed. A variety of differently-sized thru-hulls can therefore be formed from the same stock item, reducing the amount of inventory manufacturers are required to maintain.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2012Date of Patent: June 21, 2016Assignee: GEM PRODUCTS, INC.Inventors: Jason Sarnowski, Erle Matthew Bridgewater

Patent number: 9079637Abstract: A drain plug including a first handle on an interior side of a boat and a second handle on an exterior side of the boat, allowing the drain plug to be operated from an exterior side of the boat or from the interior side of the boat. The handles are also sized to prevent passage through a drain port to prevent the drain plug from being lost. The drain port in which the drain plug is disposed may be angled to provide for clearance between the first handle of the drain plug and the hull of the boat and enable a user to easily grasp the interior handle of the drain plug to install and uninstall the drain plug by hand.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2013Date of Patent: July 14, 2015Assignee: Gem Products, Inc.Inventors: Jason Sarnowski, Erle Matthew Bridgewater

Publication number: 20140331722Abstract: A compression latch is disclosed that is adapted to fold down in both the locked and unlocked positions and that compresses a washer when in the closed position. The latch can couple directly to a hinged body, and does not require a separate housing that is then coupled to the hinged body. The above structure reduces leak points, creates a flush appearance, reduces the risk of injury, and allows greater customizability, as compared to prior art latches.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2014Publication date: November 13, 2014Applicant: GEM Products, Inc.Inventors: Erle Matthew Bridgewater, Jason Sarnowski

Publication number: 20140090204Abstract: An adjustable friction hinge that implements a sex bolt in the barrel of the hinge is disclosed. One or more washers can be concentrically arranged about the sex bolt and can interact with the portions of the leaves of the hinge to create the necessary friction to maintain a desired hinge position. An indent can also be provided on the friction hinge to abut an interior of the sex bolt and prevent loosening of the sex bolt during use. The sex bolt acts as a more stable structural backbone as compared to the prior art adjustable hinge and includes a receiving portion where a common tool can be used to reduce or increase the amount of friction in the hinge. The washer configuration of the present application exhibits little to no wear characteristics over time.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2012Publication date: April 3, 2014Applicant: GEM Products, Inc.Inventors: Jason Sarnowski, Erle Matthew Bridgewater, Erik D.
