  • Patent number: 9675509
Abstract: A method of transferring a patient from a first resting surface to a second resting surface includes inserting a corrugated sheet into a channel formed between the patient and the first resting surface, extending a portion of the sheet between the patient and the first resting surface to under the patient's feet, extending a portion of the sheet between the patient and the first resting surface to under the patient's head, and pulling laterally on the sheet to slide the sheet from the first resting surface to the second resting surface thereby transferring the patient.

  • Patent number: 9655561
Abstract: A sensor array system (10, 30) can include a substrate layer (12, 14) that includes a stretchable and conformable material that is configured to allow spaced apart and interconnected portions thereof to stretch and conform commensurate with movement of the substrate layer (12, 14), such as when attached to a patient's body. A plurality of electrodes (16) are disposed on a contact surface of the substrate layer (12, 14). Electrically conductive paths are also disposed on the substrate layer (14) and extending from each of the electrodes to which it is connected and terminating in an end thereof. The substrate layer may itself include more than one layer, such as including a flexible substrate layer (12) that is affixed to a stretchable material layer (14).

  • Patent number: 9587384
Abstract: A modular sensor activated faucet assembly provides a spout that can be coupled and removed from its mounting base quickly and easily for installation and service. A water tight connection can be established between the mounting base and the spout without the use of tools or additional mechanical connections, thus allowing the spout to be installed by simply plugging into its base. A seamless spout construction defining a hollow interior bifurcated by integral internal wall structure provides a wet chamber between its mounting end and the outlet and a flow pipe inside the spout. The modular base provides a cooperating flow pipe. When the spout is mounted onto the base, the flow pipes are configured to nest together in close relation such that one or more seals can be disposed between the flow pipes to provide a water tight seal between the spout and base.

  • Patent number: 9463819
Abstract: A portable cart is convertible between a collapsed state for improving storage and transportation, and an expanded state for deploying a modular workstation that may be used for remote medical care. The cart includes a collapsible frame having support members that are pivotable between an open and closed position, and a central upright frame that guides a strut member from a retracted position to an upright extended position. The strut member is lockable in the upright position, and the workstation module is configured to mount to and dismount from the extended strut member. The workstation module may include an interface assembly that enables a patient to communicate with a doctor that is remotely located from the cart. A power module may also be mounted to the cart for powering the workstation module. The cart may easily be transported or stored by dismounting the workstation module and collapsing the frame.

  • Patent number: 9445963
Abstract: A patient transfer system includes a patient transfer assembly and a patient transfer device. The assembly includes a sheet of corrugatable material, at least one stiffener that resists corrugation of the sheet in a first dimension when the patient transfer assembly including the sheet corrugated in a second dimension is inserted between the patient and a surface of a first resting device on which the patient rests. The sheet includes portions at which pulling in a direction along the second dimension decorrugates the sheet between the patient and the surface and fasteners. The device includes a sheet engaging assembly that pulls at least one of the fasteners in a direction along the first dimension to slide the decorrugated sheet relative to the surface thereby transferring the patient.
