  • Publication number: 20110244201
Abstract: A repositionable medium includes a base, a paper, and a first repositionable adhesive. The base has a top surface, a bottom surface, a first end edge, and a second end edge. The paper is fixedly coupled to the top surface of the base proximate to the first end edge. The paper has an inner edge and an outer edge. The outer edge is closer to the first end edge than the inner edge is to the first end edge. The inner edge is spaced a first distance from the first end edge of the base. The first repositionable adhesive is fixed to the bottom surface of the base and is not present in a first low adhesion area at a line across a width of the base and spaced a second distance from the second end edge of the base. The second distance equals the length of the first distance.

  • Publication number: 20110195217
Abstract: A note sheet is provided that includes a body portion and a tab portion integral with the body portion and extending from an end thereof. At a location where the tab portion and the body portion meet one another, at least one arced shoulder is formed therebetween. The note sheet is formed from a multilayer construction including a base layer extending substantially the entirety of the body and the tab portions. The base layer having a first surface and a second surface. The note sheet includes a first layer of adhesive on the second surface of the base layer that is located on the body portion of the note sheet, but not the tab portion.

  • Patent number: 7937862
Abstract: A sliding accessory may be mounted on a rail of a file folder, binder, sheet protector, divider, or other device. The accessory may be initially provided on a printable sheet, and may be provided with one or more fold lines that enable the accessory to be folded into a desired configuration. The fold lines may also be used to form a male portion that may be inserted into the rail of the file folder for attaching the accessory to the file folder. The male portion may be provided on one or two sides of the accessory depending on a rail configuration of the file folder. The male portion may have securing portions that interconnect with securing edges of the rail of the file folder. The securing portions and securing edges interconnect in such a manner that enables the accessory to be slidably moved along the rail. The accessory may be produced from a printable sheet having one or more die-cut accessories formed therein.

  • Patent number: 7467487
Abstract: Index tabs having a mechanism for alignment with an edge of a mounting sheet, and methods for making and using the same. Embodiments exemplary of the alignment mechanism include various stopper constructions, pocket constructions, and the like. For example, a pocket can be formed within an index tab, such that the pocket contains an opening at the bottom for receiving an edge of a mounting sheet. The edge of the mounting sheet becomes aligned with the index tab when it fully engages the top of the pocket, which acts as a stopper. After alignment is achieved, the index tab is adhered to the mounting sheet. Various shapes and materials that are beneficial in the new tab constructions are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6966721
Abstract: A wrap-around notebook or binder includes a ring assembly with a shield and a pair of frames forming a bistable construction, and a hinge plate pivotally coupled to the shield with the outer surface of the hinge plate aligned with the outer extent of the shield/frame assembly when the hinge plate is parallel to the plane of the shield. The exposed frame member may be convex, recessed to receive rivet heads, and may be plated. The hinge plate(s) may have curls which interfit with alternate curls from the shield to provide a hinge. The ring assembly may be mounted in the notebook or binder so that the shield side of the ring assembly faces the front cover of the binder. The pivot line between the shield and the hinge plate may be spaced from the shield by a clearance distance. The notebook or binder lies flat on an underlying surface with either the front cover of the rear cover folded under the assembly.

  • Patent number: 6966108
Abstract: A system for assembling a wrap-around type binder includes a riveting apparatus including a riveting station, for assembling a ring/shield/frame/hinge plate assembly to binder covers. The ring assemblies are moved to the riveting station along one path, and the binder or notebook covers are fed to the riveting station along another path. The riveting station includes locating and forming pins and at least one magnet for holding the hinge plates, and a carriage for holding rivets and for driving them through the covers and expanding the rivets on the forming pins to securely mount the hinge plates and associated rings, shields and frames to the binder covers.

  • Patent number: 6883423
Abstract: A customized application of index tabs to dividers and other types of indexing material includes a releasably attachable alignment tool. The alignment tool includes a plurality of indicia printed thereon for guiding the placement of a desired number of index tabs. The indicia indicate by positioning of both numerals and lines where an index tab is to be placed on an indexing material, depending on the number of index tabs that are to be placed. The alignment tool may also be positioned on a sheet and removable from the sheet to align index tabs on different documents. Multiple alignment tools may also be positioned on a sheet and removable to align index tabs on documents of different sizes.

  • Patent number: 6594933
Abstract: An index tab assembly may include a liner sheet with an adhesive releasing surface and an overlying plastic sheet with die cut partial fold tabs therein, and with a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive between the two sheets. The tabs include two printable areas of substantially equal size and a securing area extending from one of the printable areas. The securing area has a narrow strip area adjacent the printable area which is free from adhesive. In use, the tabs are removed from the liner, the two printable areas are folded together, and the resultant step or lip and the adhesive free area cooperate to facilitate accurate placement of the index tab.
