The method includes receiving a query from a user and an automated input specific to the user from a computing device, generating a list of merchants based on the query and the automated input, generating a virtual shopping area from the list of merchants and based on one or more constraints, and displaying the virtual shopping area on the computing device. One optional step is presenting to the user an interface to purchase query-related items from merchants in the virtual shopping area. The method optionally includes receiving an indication of intent to purchase an item from the user, displaying an image of the item to the user, and dynamically updating the displayed image of the item as the user specifies item-specific details. The list of merchants can be restricted to merchants geographically close to the user.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media relating to speaker verification. In one aspect, a system receives a first user identity from a second user, and, based on the identity, accesses voice characteristics. The system randomly generates a challenge sentence according to a rule and/or grammar, based on the voice characteristics, and prompts the second user to speak the challenge sentence. The system verifies that the second user is the first user if the spoken challenge sentence matches the voice characteristics. In an enrollment aspect, the system constructs an enrollment phrase that covers a minimum threshold of unique speech sounds based on speaker-distinctive phonemes, phoneme clusters, and prosody. Then user utters the enrollment phrase and extracts voice characteristics for the user from the uttered enrollment phrase.

Abstract: A method and system for associating concurrent communication sessions. First and second communication sessions are established. The first and second communication session correspond to a common user account and are active concurrently. The first and second communication sessions are associated with each other to share data between the first and second communication sessions. The first and second communication sessions can be data network and telephone communication sessions established by a web server and a telephony network server, respectively. An application server can connect the web server and the telephony server to associate the data network and telephone communication sessions and share data between the data network and telephone network communication sessions.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and using geo-centric language models are provided herein. An exemplary method includes assigning each of a plurality of listings to a local service area, determining a geographic center for the local service area, computing a listing density for the local service area, and selecting a desired number of listings for a geo-centric listing set. The geo-centric listing set includes a subset of the plurality of listings. The exemplary method further includes dividing the local service area into regions based upon the listing density and the number of listings in the geo-centric listing set, and building a language model for the geo-centric listing set.

Identified coupons can be transmitted to the consumer by notifying a coupon issuer that the user is entitled to a discount.

The method includes receiving an indication of a field and a user interface of a device, the indication also signaling that speech will follow, receiving the speech from the user at the device, the speech being associated with the field, transmitting the speech as a request to public, common network node that receives and processes speech, processing the transmitted speech and returning text associated with the speech to the device and inserting the text into the field. Upon a second indication from the user, the system processes the text in the field as programmed by the user interface. The present disclosure provides a speech mash up application for a user interface of a mobile or desktop device that does not require expensive speech processing technologies.

The method embodiment comprises comparing a received voice signal against a database of known fraudulent voice signatures, denying the caller's transaction if the voice signal substantially matches the database of known fraudulent voice signatures, adding the caller's voice signal to the database of known fraudulent voice signatures if the voice signal does not substantially match a separate speaker verification database and received additional information is not verified.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a relevant content delivery service on networks such as packet networks, e.g., Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Service over Internet Protocol (SoIP) networks are disclosed. For example, the present method receives a request to initiate a call from a calling party to a called party. The method then establishes a communication connection between the calling party and the called party and a communication connection to a speech recognizer. The method monitors a conversation between the calling party and the called party using the speech recognizer for detecting one or more verbal triggers. Finally, the method delivers relevant content that is associated with any detected verbal triggers to the calling party and/or the called party.
