  • Patent number: 8108712
Abstract: A method, and a corresponding apparatus, implemented on a suitably programmed processor, selects an ideal computer to remove from a computer cluster observing a failure condition. The computer cluster includes multiple computers. The method includes the steps of recording, at each of the computers, health data for each of the computers, computing, at a health timeout, a first health score for each of the computers based on the health data, computing, at a fatal timeout, and based on the first health score, a second health score for each of the computers, and at each of the computers, selecting a computer having the highest health score for removal from the cluster.

  • Publication number: 20120005133
Abstract: A system and method for associating Signaling System 7 logical circuits and bearer channels are presented. The system may include an event detector configured to receive an SS7 signaling message on an SS7 signaling link, parse a logical circuit from the SS7 signaling message, receive an SS7 bearer channel, and detect a bearer channel event on the SS7 bearer channel. A statistical learning model block is configured to calculate a correlation confidence value between said bearer channel and said logical circuit. The method may include parsing a logical circuit ID from a signaling message on an SS7 signal link, identifying a bearer channel associated with a bearer event on a bearer circuit, and calculating a current correlation confidence value between the logical circuit ID and the bearer channel.

  • Publication number: 20100100344
Abstract: A user configured measurement display system and method for a non-destructive testing device and instrument (NDT/NDI) with high input data rate is disclosed. The system and the method provide the means for NDT/NDI instruments display measurement values that satisfies user designated measurement criterion occurring during any measurement time intervals (MTIs). The present disclosure overcomes the shortcomings of conventional ways of picking and displaying measurement values at fixed MTIs, by which the values truly satisfying the measurement criterion that occurs at random MTIs (other than scheduled MTIs) are often skipped.

  • Publication number: 20070112561
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing the complexity of linear prediction analysis-by synthesis (LPAS) speech coders. The speech coder includes a multi-tap pitch predictor having various parameters and utilizing an adaptive codebook subdivided into at least a first vector codebook and a second vector codebook. The pitch predictor removes certain redundancies in a subject speech signal and vector quantizes the pitch predictor parameters. Further included is a source excitation (fixed) codebook that indicates pulses in the subject speech signal by deriving corresponding vector values. Serial optimization of the adaptive codebook first and then the fixed codebook produces a low complexity LPAS speech coder of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20060293069
Abstract: A method and a system for controlling an electronic device (102) are provided. The method includes receiving a first control message from a network (110). After the first control message is received, a second control message is received from a local device. Further, an application corresponding to the second control message is executed. The application corresponding to the second control message is selected from one or more applications present in the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 5944049
Abstract: A pressure for a chamber is regulated by controlling either the exhaust pressure at the exhaust side of a first vacuum pump or the internal pressure at a compression stage of the first vacuum pump, where the first vacuum pump is directly communicating with the chamber. The pressure of the chamber can be regulated by combinations of the following: controlling the variable rotational frequency of a roots vacuum pump, a pre-vacuum pump, or a high compression pump; controlling a control valve between a pre-vacuum pump and the first vacuum pump; controlling a control valve for injecting gas into the exhaust side of the first vacuum pump or into the compression stage of the first vacuum pump; and controlling a control valve or control valves for bypassing the first vacuum pump or a compression stage or compression stages of the first vacuum pump.
