  • Publication number: 20070066244
Abstract: Method, system and apparatus for receiving antenna selection, comprising a receiving step, a determining step, an estimating step, and an assigning step. The receiving step involves receiving data and second data associated with a first antenna and a second antenna. It follows the determining step determining first and second throughputs with the first data and the second data. Next the estimating step estimating first signal deviance and second signal deviance between the received data (Dki) and a reference signal (Rki), with the first data and the second data respectively. Finally the assigning step assigning a receiving antenna among the first and the second antennas, based on the first and the second throughputs, and the first and the second signal deviances.

  • Publication number: 20060010361
Abstract: A method and an apparatus of compensating for a signal receiving error at a receiver in a packet-based communication system. In the invention, frequency offset estimation and DC offset estimation obtained in a current packet are re-used in a next packet if the receiver is an intended recipient of the current packet and the current packet is received correctly, verified by CRC-32 checking in the PHY layer and the DA checking in the MAC layer, respectively. Thereby, the overall receiver performance and stability can be improved from packet to packet and the estimation algorithm is simplified.

  • Publication number: 20050276354
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and apparatus of IQ imbalance compensation for a receiver. The repetitive attribute of the preamble in a signal received by the receiver is used to estimate the IQ imbalance parameters. The data carried by the preamble repeats itself every N sampling intervals. A MSE equation is derived based on assuming the ratios between any two sampling points separated by N samples are identical, and the IQ imbalance parameters can be estimated by solving the MSE equation using the LS algorithm. Consequently, the IQ mismatch offset of the signal is compensated according to the estimated parameters.

  • Publication number: 20050063498
Abstract: A method for updating coefficients in a decision feedback equalizer (DFE). The DFE comprises an ISI canceller for canceling ISI from a plurality of first signals received from a channel. A first symbol comprising a set of the first signals is decoded to generate a decoded symbol. Then, a vector of error values computed as the difference between the decoded symbol, and the first symbol is obtained. According to the decoded symbol and the vector of the error values, a temp matrix is generated. Next, the values of the elements in every diagonal line of the temp matrix are averaged. Finally, the coefficients are updated by the Toeplitz Matrix.

  • Patent number: 6836812
Abstract: A sequencing method and a bridging system for accessing a shared system resource capable of increasing transmission rate and reducing transmission error when a plurality of master controllers need to access the shared system resource. The sequencing method includes providing each transaction with a transaction identification value and a master identification value. In addition, each master controller is also assigned an access priority.

  • Publication number: 20030124873
Abstract: The present invention is a method of annealing an oxide film. According to the present invention, an oxide film is deposited over a substrate. The oxide film is then annealed by exposing the oxide film to an ambient containing atomic oxygen for a predetermined period of time. In an embodiment of the present invention, the ambient containing atomic oxygen (O) is formed in the chamber by reacting a hydrogen containing gas and an oxygen containing gas together. In another embodiment of the present invention, the ambient containing atomic oxygen (O) is formed by decomposing N2O.

  • Patent number: 6423141
Abstract: A novel apparatus for compressing viscous material through openings in a stencil is disclosed. The novel apparatus has a compression head cap which provides a contained environment to direct and to aid the flow of pressurized viscous material through the openings in the stencil. The compression head cap further includes a plurality of members which are selectively and movably disposed within the contained environment and which selectively remove an amount of the material from the environment, effective to prevent the material from being undesirably dispensed by the head cap.

  • Patent number: 5878661
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a self-shearing stencil for use in applying solder paste or other bonding material atop a printed circuit board (PCB) in a predefined pattern. The stencil 50 has a top surface 12, a bottom surface 14, a first surface cavity 16 in the top surface, and a second surface cavity 18 in the bottom surface proximate the first surface. The cavities 16/18 overlap in a predefined manner so as to be in open communication with each other. When the stencil is placed on the PCB, the cavities are filled with solder paste and the PCB is then lowered away from the stencil, whereupon a bottom ledge 26 (defined by the stencil material underneath the first cavity) shears off the solder paste in the first cavity from the paste in the second cavity.

  • Patent number: 5824155
Abstract: A novel apparatus for compressing viscous material through openings in a stencil is disclosed. The novel apparatus has a compression headcap which provides a contained environment to direct and to aid the flow of pressurized viscous material through the openings in the stencil. The compression headcap includes two generally parallel wiper blades that are biased into sliding communication with the stencil. Longitudinal diffuser plates guide and equalize the flow of the viscous material into the volume between two generally parallel wiper blades.

  • Patent number: 5244320
Abstract: A wood tapping machine includes a cutting device formed on a machine body which has a tapping rod extending horizontally from the cutting device. A guiding path is formed on the machine body and has a toolrest which is disposed slidably thereon. The toolrest includes a base member and a cylindrical casing that has two arms extending therefrom and connected pivotally to the base member. A driving rod connects the base member and the cylindrical casing and maintains the cylindrical casing parallel to the tapping rod of the cutting device. The cylindrical casing can swing relative to the base member when the driving rod rotates about its axis. A main shaft is threadedly and rotatably disposed through the cylindrical casing. The main shaft has a chuck assembly at one end and a rotation wheel at another end thereof.
