  • Patent number: 10231754
Abstract: A cannula assembly for use in laproscopic surgery includes a cannula having a proximal end for use in orientating the assembly into an abdominal cavity, a distal end for insertion into a patient, and a passage through which surgical instruments can be inserted. An expandable feature in the form of an anchor is located toward the distal end of the cannula and is selectively expandable and collapsible. The feature in its expanded state prevents withdrawal of the cannula. A collar is pushed distally until it releasably cinches to the outside of the abdominal cavity thereby creating an airtight seal and stabilizing the assembly. The collar has a friction fit with the cannula designed to prevent excessive force against the cavity walls.

  • Patent number: 9880640
Abstract: A device can display content on a page associated with a dimension. A user can adjust an orientation of the device to adjust a displayed orientation of the page, enabling pages for additional dimensions to be displayed. A user can select one of these dimensions, and adjust an orientation of the device to enable the user to access content for the selected dimension. The change in orientation can be a tilt or flick of the device in a first direction to select a dimension, and then a user could tilt or flick the device in another direction to view pages, sub-dimensions, or other groupings of content among that dimension. Such an approach can enable a user to quickly locate content corresponding to a sub-dimension without having to scroll down a long page of content or otherwise manually navigate to specific content.

  • Publication number: 20170341008
Abstract: A device and method for producing a reformate fuel from a hydrocarbon gas source. The invention enables the conversion of a dilute hydrocarbon gas into a more easily consumable reformate fuel. Gases having low concentrations of hydrocarbons are concentrated using a concentrator into a gaseous or liquid concentrated VOC fuel. The concentrated VOC fuel is then converted into a reformate using a reformer. The reformate is more easily consumed by an energy conversion device such as a combustion engine, fuel cell, sterling engine or similar device that converts chemical energy into kinetic or electrical energy. The reformer enables complex hydrocarbon fuels that are not normally suitable for use in an energy conversion device to be converted into a reformate. The reformate may be directly supplied into the energy conversion device.

  • Patent number: 9753552
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, computer-readable media and systems for locking an orientation of content on a display to prevent automatic and inadvertent orientation changes. An orientation lock module receives input from a user and presents a lock control for a pre-determined time. When locked, orientation of content on the display remains unchanged regardless of motion. When unlocked, orientation of content on the display may automatically change in response to detecting a motion.

  • Patent number: 9652903
Abstract: Various embodiments of an apparatus and method for determining a wheel end condition are disclosed. In one example, a controller for determining a wheel end condition comprises a plurality of wheel speed sensor inputs for receiving wheel speed sensor signals from a plurality of associated wheel speed sensors installed at associated wheel ends. The controller includes control logic that determines a speed as a function of the wheel speed sensor signal; receives a resistance value of the individual wheel speed sensor and compares the resistance value to a first and second high resistance threshold and a low resistance threshold. The control logic determines a wheel end condition exists at the associated wheel end as a function of the speed and the resistance value.

  • Patent number: 9253631
Abstract: Various approaches provide for the delivery of information on a portable computing device in response to being at or near a particular geographic location. In addition, optional functionality associated with the information can also be provided. In various embodiments, one or more applications are available to a user for download. The applications could come prepackaged with the device. It can be beneficial to monitor the user of the portable computing device to learn a user's habits. Understanding a user's habits, along with their stated preferences, allows a service to provide a user with timely and relevant information that is not only relevant to the user, but also relevant to the user's current location.
