Abstract: A system and method are provided for determining a color palette model from an image of a document. Pixel values of the image of the document are clustered to provide image clusters. Color layers of the image are determined, each color layer corresponding to an image cluster. Aspects of the color palette model can be determined using the color layers. Aspects of the color palette model include a foreground-background color pair for a content block in the document and a background-area color of the document.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for obtaining the rendering co-ordinates of visible text elements on a web page is disclosed. The web page is represented by an input data structure comprising a plurality of text nodes, each of which represents a text element on the web page. The method comprises the following steps: a) using a computer device, wrapping each of the plurality of text nodes in a pair of mark-up language tags; b) using said computer device, obtaining the co-ordinates of a bounding rectangle for each text node using the mark-up language tags; c) using said computer device, attaching an attribute specifying the co-ordinates of the bounding rectangle to each text node; and d) using said computer device, determining whether each text node is invisible, and if it is, excluding it from an output data structure comprising the plurality of text nodes and attached attributes.

An example of profile driven extraction includes utilizing an extraction profile created for extracting a subset of content from a particular type of web page, extracting the subset of the content from a number of web pages with a computing device, and transforming the subset of the content with the computing device into a displayable format.

Abstract: A system and method for an adaptive threshold Web Page segmenting is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a physical computing system having one or more processors for segmenting a Web page including a plurality of nodes includes parsing content in the Web page into the plurality of nodes using the physical computing system, obtaining feature values between each pair of nodes using the physical computing system, estimating an adaptive threshold value using the obtained feature values using the physical computing system, and segmenting the Web page by comparing the feature values associated with each pair of nodes with the estimated adaptive threshold value.

An agent, such as software installed on-board the customer's mobile equipment, measures parameters that are related to the services, and communicates the measured parameters to the service provider, over the communication network.

Abstract: A method and system for extracting Web content is disclosed. In one embodiment, Web content in a Webpage is extracted by identifying paragraphs in the Web content based on line-break node determination. A range of text-body associated with the identified paragraphs is then identified using a maximum scoring subsequence. Further, the identified text-body is refined using a heuristic rule of substantially horizontal alignment. Furthermore, one or more titles and one or more images associated with the Web content are extracted. Moreover, the Web content including the identified paragraphs, the one or more titles and the one or more images are outputted.

Abstract: Measurement sensors are designed to provide metadata to data recording devices in an opportunistic manner to conserve bandwidth and/or power. In one embodiment, the metadata is communicated to the recording device during opportunistic periods, such as, for example, when actual data transmission can be skipped, or when battery level is high, or when there is enough bandwidth, i.e., other sensors are not using the full allocated bandwidth. In one embodiment, a plurality of sensors each only send a portion of their data such that all the portions taken together form the complete metadata. In another embodiment, each sensor only sends an identification of its type and the receiving device “looks up” the full metadata from a database.

Abstract: A wireless coverage mapping technique is arranged to display the signaling location for each measured signal as well as the measured signal strength. In one embodiment, the resulting map contains a colored circle at the point where the signal measurement is taken and a line connecting the circle to the signaling location in communication with the location of the measurement at the time the measurement is taken. If desired, the color of the line can reflect the connectively metric while the style of the line can convey other information about the measurement or the measurement type. Also, if desired, the direction of movement of a mobile detector (for example, a cellular phone) can be displayed. The map can be used, for example, to determine neighbor lists such that by observation the administrator can match the neighbor list for a particular connection against the transmitter actually selected for that transmission.

Abstract: A system and method of verifying metadata in a measurement processing system is described. Each combination of metadata is associated with a key, and the keys are used to verify that operations performed using the measurements are valid based on the metadata of the respective measurements. Embodiments allow metadata verification to be made prior to operating on measurements. Embodiments also minimize the processing that results from making such checks redundantly causing slowdown in the measurement processing.

Abstract: There are disclosed systems and methods for performing diagnostic testing on portable communication devices, such as cellular telephones. In one embodiment, diagnostic commands are generated internal to the communication device and processed within the device as though the test commands had been received from a remote location. Abstract: In a method and system, one or more communication devices within a communication network are provided with a dynamically and remotely configurable probe element, implemented at least partially in software and controllable by the network operator via one or more communication links, capable of monitoring, measuring and capturing user interaction data flowing from voice and/or data transactions occurring in the network. User interaction data reflects a user's experience on the network and thus provides valuable raw data usable by the network operator for improving network quality from the user's perspective, especially when received from a statistically significant number of network user devices. Collected user interaction data can include network engineering metric data and/or user profile data.
