The method includes listing at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information for an ESG bootstrap proper for a status of a terminal, creating a Management Object (MO), which connects the ESG bootstrap entry point with said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information and transmitting the created MO to the terminal through an interactive channel.

Abstract: An information file pertaining to media data includes reproduction rating information for each of a plurality of segments. The information file is used by a client to determine what segment or segments to request from a server. The server responds to the request by sending the segment or segments to the client. Since the reproduction rating information may be provided for each of the segments, the selection of the segment or segments by the client can take into account a reproduction rating threshold.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sharing a bookmark, which is created by a user, with other users. In a method for sharing a bookmark in a home network, information of a bookmark for sharing in a home network device of a bookmark creator is created. The bookmark or the information of the bookmark is stored in an Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) terminal in the home network of the bookmark creator. The bookmark or the information of the bookmark is then transmitted from the IPTV terminal to an IPTV service provider.

Abstract: An apparatus and method provides content data on a personal terminal using an adaptive streaming service. A user terminal receives, from a media management server, a metadata file needed for receiving content data stored in a home media server or another terminal. Based on information recorded in the metadata file, the user terminal provides a content service including the content files by segmenting target content data to support an optimal bit rate based on at least one of its performance and network conditions.

Abstract: A method for managing software of a terminal in a device management system is provided. The device management server identifies if the memory area required for downloading and installing software is ensured in the terminal when the device management server has the software to be downloaded to the terminal. Then, the device management server acquires at least one among a usage rate during a predetermined period of time, a last use time, and a total number of times of usage for each software installed in the terminal when the required memory area is not ensured in the terminal. Next, the device management server selects software to be removed based on the usage rate, the last use time, etc., and notifies the terminal of the selected removal-targeted software. Then, the terminal removes the removal-targeted software when the terminal receives a removal acceptance input of the removal-targeted software from the user, and notifies the device management server of a result of the removal.
