  • Patent number: 9961153
Abstract: The invention relates to a presence status determination system and a computer implemented method to determine the presence status of a first user registered in a network and to communicate this presence status to a second user, who would like to make contact with the first user. An input device for a presence status determination device records a predetermined first presence status component determined by the first user and forwards the first presence status component to the presence status determination device (20). A contact person registration device records the identity of the second user and reports the identity to a relationship determination device. The relationship determination device determines, with the aid of a computer, a second presence status component, which considers the social proximity between the first user and the second user.

  • Patent number: 8761796
Abstract: In order to determine the spatial position of a device (D), the device receives position data relating to a plurality of transmitters (T1, . . . , Tn) in the area surrounding the device, each of which transmitters emits its own position data in the form of radio signals (PS1, . . . , PS j). The device uses the received position data relating to at least some of these transmitters to determine its own position. The transmitters are parts of a plurality of second communication devices (T1, . . . , Tn) each having at least two radio interfaces (RI1, RI2) of a first type (RI1) and of a second type (RI2) in a network (N) of a plurality of first communication devices (AP1, . . . , APm) each having at least one radio interface of the second type (RI2), wherein the network is switched via the radio interfaces of the second type (RI2). At least some of the first and second communication devices are set up to emit first signals (BS1, . . . , BSk) via the radio interfaces of the second type (RI2).

  • Publication number: 20110065208
Abstract: A method determines or estimates the absorption and partition of substances into brain tissue and parameters derivable therefrom, such as the permeability of substances through the blood-brain barrier and also, more particularly, the proportion of substances freely available in the brain. The partition coefficient of the corresponding substance between an aqueous phase and the lipid phase is determined with the help of lipid membranes which are preferably contained in a test kit and immobilized on a solid body as a carrier material. The partition coefficient can be subsequently used as a parameter in a QSAR model to determine the blood-brain partition coefficient.
