  • Patent number: 7434669
Abstract: A hydraulic vehicle brake equipped with a parking brake device, in particular for motor vehicles, including a brake housing in which a hydraulic service pressure chamber is delimited by a brake piston, wherein the parking brake device acts on the brake piston and, in the applied condition, can be locked by a locking device, and an energy accumulator cooperating with the brake piston is equipped with at least one integrated spring element. In order to realize a simple and low-cost parking brake function that complies with legal requirements, according to the invention, the parking brake device is operable by a pressure that is introduced into the service pressure chamber and enables charging the energy accumulator.

  • Patent number: 7416263
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and method for controlling the braking system of a vehicle equipped with a wheel slip control system. In this context, the wheel slip control system is in a position, when certain conditions are met, to initiate the buildup of first braking torques at least one wheel brake. Furthermore, the wheel slip control system initiates preparatory measures for the buildup of second braking moments in the wheel brakes of the remaining wheels, the preparatory measures leading to no, or no significant, braking action in the wheel brakes of the remaining wheels. The present invention provides the preparatory measures for the buildup of second braking moments in reaction to the buildup of the first braking moments.

  • Publication number: 20080003590
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining binding parameters between at least one type of substance and at least one binding partner by using at least one luminescent probe and an appropriate kit. For carrying out the inventive method, a solid body which is at least partially loaded with at least one binding partner and which is incubated with the testable substance is used. After separation of the solid body and a non-bound substance, the concentration of the testable substance is determined by measuring the modulation or weakening of luminescence signals of at least one probe by the non-bound substance in a supernatant.

  • Patent number: 7044248
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for controlling the driving speed of a vehicle. The method and arrangement make possible a use of a driving speed controller even for adverse road conditions. A desired value (VDES) is inputted for the driving speed in dependence upon the friction contact between the vehicle wheels and the roadway. Control of the driving speed is deactivated during intervention of the drive slip control in the drive power of the vehicle. The desired value (VDES) for the driving speed is reduced after the intervention of the drive slip control.

  • Patent number: 6923295
Abstract: The present invention relates to a friction brake, in particular a disc brake, for a motor vehicle with a friction element, e.g. a brake disc, coupled to the rotation of a vehicle wheel, forming a friction pairing of the friction brake with at least one associated brake lining, and with at least one clamping device for pressing at least one brake lining to the friction element. At least one controllable friction clutch is provided for using the rotational energy of the friction element in order to obtain the clamping force of the friction brake, the friction clutch being coupled on its input end to the rotation of the friction element and on its output end to the clamping device. Functional advantages are achieved because a friction pairing of the friction clutch is provided independently of the friction pairing of the friction brake. This eliminates undesired mutual influences. Altogether, such a friction brake obviates the need for an additional energy source for generating a brake clamping force.

  • Patent number: 6814414
Abstract: A device for preventing a rollback of a vehicle on an incline. The vehicle is equipped with a brake system, via which at least the braking pressure in the wheel brakes of a rear wheel is influenced in order to distribute the braking action between at least one front wheel and one rear wheel by actuating actuators assigned to the rear wheels so that a differential is set between the pressure of the front wheel and the rear wheel (e.g., an EBD braking). The device has a first arrangement for determining whether vehicle standstill is occurring due to braking where a differential in the braking pressure of the front wheel and the rear wheel has been set. The device also includes a second arrangement for determining whether the vehicle is rolling back from a standstill. If the second arrangement detects a vehicle rollback, the braking pressure in at least one rear wheel is increased to inhibit rollback.

  • Publication number: 20040171011
Abstract: The invention relates to a method suitable for the production of immobilized double lipid layers, comprising an inner and an outer lipid layer. The inner and outer lipid layer of said double lipid layers have a defined orientation on the surface of a solid body and are immobilized on the surface of said solid body in a substantially stable and dynamic manner. In order to carry out the inventive method, the surface of a solid body is initially modified in such a way that a surface is formed which preferably interacts with only one of the two lipid layers. In a second step, a double lipid layer is deposited on said modified surface. Preferably, other components, especially protein, are inserted into the double lipid layer.

  • Publication number: 20040142341
Abstract: The invention relates to a system, which can be used for measuring membrane permeation in substances. Said system comprises, essentially, porous particles with an inner surface formed within the pores, and another outer surface. Essentially, only the outer surface is fully covered by a lipid layer, said lipid layer extending over the openings of the pores on the outer surface. Preferably, an intermediate layer is arranged between the outer surface and the lipid layer. Said intermediate layer is embodied, more particularly, in the form a polymer network.

  • Patent number: 6732036
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling a drive unit, in which, when drivetrain oscillations are present, a reduction of the torque takes place until they have decayed. In addition, the torque value at which the oscillations occurred is stored. If the torque exceeds that value, a limitation of the rise in the torque is accomplished.

  • Patent number: 6709067
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling the braking torque of a brake force controller at at least one wheel of a motor vehicle, in which the control pulses for a hydraulic valve is not calculated as a function of the control signal of the hydraulic pump (pump motor PM) but of the actual standstill of the pump motor PM. To detect the actual standstill of the pump motor PM, its induced voltage &mgr;PM is measured. When voltage &mgr;PM falls below a predefined minimum threshold value Vx, then the pump motor PM is assumed to be at a standstill.

  • Patent number: 6689015
Abstract: Method for influencing the propulsive power of a motor vehicle driven by a drive motor. An intervention variable, influencing the torque of the drive motor, is ascertained as a function of the wheel behavior of at least one wheel of the motor vehicle, and/or as a function of the motion of the motor vehicle. The drive motor is acted upon with the intervention variable to limit the propulsive power of the motor vehicle. An easily manipulated, safe, and reliable capability for automatically detecting situations in which the driver desires a greater propulsive power and making a greater propulsive power available in those situations, a motor vehicle with a slip control system is created. Evaluating a pedal variable that describes the actuation of an accelerator pedal of the motor vehicle, or a limitation variable that describes the number of limitations of driver stipulations resulting from the ascertaining of the intervention variable within a definable time window.
