  • Publication number: 20190022720
Abstract: A substrate (e.g., metal or non-metal sheet) can have multiple textures on a surface of the substrate. The various textures can be impressed or applied on the surface of the substrate by passing the substrate between multiple pairs of work rolls that each include at least one textured work roll for transferring a texture of the work roll onto the surface of the substrate. The pairs of work rolls apply the various textures on the surface of the substrate while maintaining a thickness of the substrate (e.g., with substantially no reduction in a thickness of the substrate). A single pass of the substrate between the pairs of work rolls can allow various different textures, patterns, or features to be applied to the surface of the substrate while the thickness of the substrate remains substantially constant.

  • Publication number: 20190028343
Abstract: An apparatus, method of operating the apparatus, and system comprising the apparatus are provided. The apparatus has a backhaul sub-node to provide a backhaul connection to a communications network and an access sub-node to provide an access cell to which user equipment can connect. In response to a configuration trigger a configuration procedure is performed, in which the backhaul sub-node gathers information about the network environment and transmits at least a portion of the information about the network environment to a network management node. The the network management node then generates an access sub-node configuration which it transmits to the access sub-node, where the configuration is dependent on the information about the network environment transmitted to the network management node by the backhaul sub-node.

  • Publication number: 20180025629
Abstract: A parking meter detects an object in proximity, based on a change in a proximity measurement at the meter, activates a directional sensor in response to detecting the object, receives sensor data at a meter processor from the directional sensor, wherein the received sensor data indicates a predetermined direction to the detected object relative to the meter. The parking meter determines a presence of the object, or lack thereof, in the predetermined direction based on the sensor data, and upon a positive determination of the presence of the object, stores an indication of the presence of the object along with a time of the positive determination.

  • Publication number: 20170306725
Abstract: A turbine has a flow pathway with an inlet in communication with the fluid channel. A rotor is disposed in the flow pathway and is rotatable around a rotation axis under the action of fluid flowing along the flow pathway. The rotation axis of the rotor is oblique to an axis extending along the fluid channel. The outlet of flow pathway may return fluid to the fluid channel. The turbine may also be provided with a flow control arrangement so as to vary the flow of fluid past the rotor and to prevent the rotor from damage. The rotor may be positioned apart from the fluid channel and so as not to obstruct the fluid channel.
